Make sure you get everything you pay for, and always get a receipt. Certain employees are shady and dishonest

Fantastic bacon too. Service was impeccable! I was here with a group on a Friday morning, we got there first thing when they opened. All the employees were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Constant refills on solid black coffee and great conversation. One of the best parts of this place is the decor and vibe. Beautiful old architecture, big windows with natural light, and old fashioned furniture and kitchen equipment. It's such a cute little place and feels very home-y. Plus it's on a very nice street in Steilacoom nice and close to the water. Outstanding place to visit on a warm sunny morning for some delicious American classics.

I never get tired of the Bair. I've been coming here since 2011, and I should have left a review…read moresooner--but it's never too late to show some appreciation. The food is truly homemade--nothing pulled from a frozen bag. And honestly, it feels like a living museum tucked into one of the quaintest little towns in America. Be kind to the longtime staff. A slightly longer wait just means your food is being made fresh, the way it should be. If you're a local, show some love and leave a positive review--you know how special this place is.

Everything was tasty, affordable and with incredible views. It sweeps down across the golf course and down the Sound. The pricing felt very reasonable for the view, the inside was a bit dated but it's beautiful on the patio on a nice day! Our server was very nice and accommodating. Can't wait to come back on a warm summer morning!

Came to this restaurant with friends to have some drinks and appetizers on a Labor Day afternoon…read more We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by the hostess who was less than friendly (meaning that it appeared she would rather be somewhere else than here). however, we were seated shortly after. After a short time, the server came to out table and took out drink orders. I chose the Bloody Mary first and then the Margarita after. The bloody Mary had an awesome piece of bacon and two olives. The drink however was weak in the vodka department. I wasn't impressed with the drink at all. The margarita was actually better and was served in a clay glass. This was really nice because it kept the margarita cold and the ice did not melt fast like it does in a glass. I definitely have to get a set of the clay glasses for home. The appetizers we ordered were the flatbread, some calamari, fried pickle spears, and some peach and cold cut stuff on bread (I don't remember what it was called). The fried pickle spears were great! The other stuff were not impressive at all (for me). The only way I can explain my dissatisfaction is that they. Could be great appetizers, but in their attempt to be fancy, they added something that just ruined the flavor of the dish. I've been here before for lunch in the past and had the burger, and it was okay, but nothing to rave about. My second visit here was my attempt to give it a second chance. The view from the outdoor seating is spectacular. The Puget Sound and the treeless golf course makes it a great place to watch the boats and golfers. There is no shade, so wear a hat if visiting outside seating.. I can't say that everyone will have my experience here. Is this restaurant worth a try? Yes, it is worth a try if here playing golf or find yourself in the area. I just wouldn't go out of my way to dine or have drinks at this restaurant. The Tacoma and surrounding area have much better restaurants at more reasonable prices.
