Instead of a block of cheese, I bought two cheese sticks (I know, I know) to eat with my Triscuits. It actually made for a yummy and healthy on-the-fly meal. The lady running the store had the air of being the owner, but I'm not sure. She was on the phone the whole time, speaking what turned out to be German. She did pause long enough to talk to me when I was ready to check out, but she didn't acknowledge me otherwise the entire time I was there. And I was there longer than planned since Yelp was in serious need of some pics of this place... So minus one star for lack of customer service. When you pay a notable premium for a locally owned, high-end food mart like this, it'd be nice to be acknowledged. $5 for the Triscuits and cheese sticks were $1 each. $7 for a very quick, healthy meal with delicious Triscuits left over. Pricey? Very. But that wasn't surprising. A well-stocked mini-grocery store in a high-rent area of town is there for convenience, and you pay for convenience. Period. Quality and Prices 5/5: for a convenience store the prices are very affordable. Service 2/5: every single time (and I go a lot and at different times) there's a huge line and only one cash register open even when there are 2 or 3 employees. I mean open a second register just for crazy lines and then just keep the one open. Cleanliness 3/4: the floor gets pretty dirty and sometimes with mud. I understand there are many people coming in and out but if they have 2 employees who are not working the cash register I'm assuming they have time to mop? If we will be charged for the ice/refills, then I don't see a reason to take the time to save the cups. Tonight, the shift Manager charged me for my refills. The smaller sizer equates to a very full house when inside shopping, getting eats, or using the extremely clean bathrooms. When we came through it was on a weekday and not one of the busier weekends. SO many people in such a small space and it's like bumper cars weaving their way through a maze of humans. Then bathrooms are smaller, but still very well kept and clean. The products are all the same, a lot with their signature logo. They have the bbq section, deli, sandwiches, pre made snacks, cookies, and all of the paraphernalia that is Buc-ee's. Gas is usually fairly inexpensive as well. Great place, just smaller, so be prepared to dodge some folks not only in the parking lot, but also in the store.
