I've passed by the old store countless times, the exterior was disgusting so I never stopped in, the pumps were decrepit and difficult to access and there was absolutely no appeal even though it's in a prime location. The engineers and architects did an amazing job with this new layout- they turned the face of the store ninety degrees and elevated everything. The new store is beautiful and modern and the pump island is easily accessible with lots of pumps as well as a drive through car wash. Although I haven't gone inside yet I can't imagine a facelift of this magnitude would come without a new business plan - this is the opportunity to clean up things including all the bad habits.
