Arwa Yemeni Coffee - Are we in Cedar Park???

Arwa Yemeni Coffee

(38 reviews)

TLDR: Get the honeycomb cheese bread! If you're minimizing caffeine, get the Qishr!…read more Awesome coffee shop. Menu sounded great. They don't have decaf unfortunately BUT they have a great low caffeine drink option. The Qishr is made from coffee husks. Not fully caffeine free but very low. I thought it was fantastic. Really comforting and flavorful. As far as pastries go, I love that they offer both sweet and savory. I tried the chicken puff (yum) as well as the honeycomb cheese bread (major yum). We got the sauces (rose water and honey, I believe) on the side and dipped. The whole family loved it. Beautiful interior. Only thing that felt odd was how quiet it was in there. It was full of people studying and working. No music. Felt like a library. Not their fault or anything but I felt a bit uneasy visiting with two toddlers.

Nut allergy friendly: Pastries may have some nuts, but we had no issue with their coffee drinks…read more We arrived around 10:15AM on a Sunday and there were a few other couples/individuals seated, chatting or working. Parking was very easy in the strip mall. The decor was very calm-formal feeling, a lot of white and the tall ceiling giving the feeling of being transported into Dubai or another Middle-Eastern country. The barista checked in to ask if it was our first time and gave us a great explanation of the teas and coffees available and their unique flavor profiles. We decided to go with some 12oz drinks to start instead of the tasting experience because we weren't sure how much caffeine we could handle, and figured the prices were similar enough where we could go back and get more if needed. We went with the Jubani and the Mofawer coffees. The Jubani was similar to a slightly more bitter Chai tea, very light and with notes of spices. The Mofawer was like a sweeter Chai latte, again with the bitter coffee notes. It was interesting to take sips of both back-to-back with a bit of whiplash from the sweetness of the Mofawer. If I were to go back, I'd prefer having the Jubani because I don't think I could handle the sweetness of some of their other drinks, but I loved the spice flavor profile and uniqueness.

I've slowly become a "make my own espresso at home person", so I don't go out of my way for coffee…read moreas much as I did a few months ago. In addition, I do not have a Haraz Coffee House near me, so when I am near one of their locations, I make it a point to pop in. I love Haraz. I love the ambience. I love the coffee. I love the pastry selection. I love the service. The consistency I've experienced from location to location is top-notch. The cleanliness here is impeccable, too. That bears mentioning. My go-to is the Haraz Latte. Iced. While this could never be my every day coffee, it is something I really enjoy and treat myself to when I'm able to go to a Haraz. As someone who doesn't proclaim to like cheesecake, their Biscoff cheesecake is the exception. Maybe it's a blessing that one isn't close by and I can only indulge every now and then. If you want a break from your regular coffee, give Haraz a shot. Especially when the summer heat kicks in - the iced coffee + cardamom is pretty great. Also, they seem to have a high standard for hiring. The staff is always great. Please tip generously ;)

This was a nice gem addition to the ATX area at the time since we did not really have Yemeni style…read morecafe options around, now there have since been several that have opened even a second location for Haraz in west campus! I have frequented this specific locations due to its proximity to my apartment and every time it's been a pleasure, whether to-go or sitting in the cafe and enjoying a nice pot to share. Love the unique additions to the menu over the typical options we see again and again. The adeni is my first choice, kind of like a spicier chai? I will say their options tend to lean on the sweeter side, so I always ask for less sweet if possible. Staff is always friendly and this location is clean with lots of seating!
