With two hours to spare before my daughter's HS varsity tennis tryouts, I was frantically Googling where to get her a quality racket and actual legit tennis shoes. I remembered someone recommending Pete Carlson's, checked the website, saw they closed at 6pm, and we raced across town. We pull up and a man wearing a helmet, about to leave on his scooter, yells over that they actually closed at 5. It was 5:10. Any parent knows what came next: "Great, Mom! Now I have no racket or shoes for tryouts!" I pulled up the website to show him it said 6pm, fully expecting him to ride off into the sunset and tell us to come back tomorrow. Instead, he parked his scooter, took off his helmet, looked at my daughter and said, "We can't have you going to tryouts with no racket or shoes. Follow me -- let's get you what you came for." Enter Raul, the unicorn of customer service. He reopened the store for us and then proceeded to give us some of the most thorough, genuinely caring customer service I've experienced. He didn't rush us AT ALL. He took the time to help my daughter find the right racket and tennis shoes so she could walk into varsity tryouts feeling confident and prepared. And Raul apparently isn't the only one drinking the magical customer-service water over there. I had previously called with a tennis question and that employee was fantastic too. Clearly, great service is part of the culture here. What also impressed me was how much pride Raul takes in his job and how highly he spoke of the owner and the hard work that grew the business from a small area in front into the large store it is today. You could tell he genuinely cares about the business and its customers. There are plenty of big-box sporting goods stores, but this experience reminded me why supporting businesses like Pete Carlson's matters. I came in frustrated with my driver -- I'm a consistent golfer, but after two neurosurgeries, my swing speed and consistency with the big stick just weren't where I wanted them. I usually use senior or even ladies shafts, and I was ready to accept that drivers just weren't for me. Enter Chris -- the absolute magician of golf fitting. Through his expertise, patience, and an eye for the smallest details, he completely transformed my game. After just one session, I'm now driving the ball almost 200 yards and dead straight nine out of ten times. I came back the next day with my sister and she was debating whether to spend the 7500 on the silver one which has no upgrades or a customized one for around 13,000 with all the upgrades, she chose the ladder and she loves it. They all have a lithium batteries which still has three years left on the warranty. If you read all the bad reviews most are ridiculous so please consider buying your golf cart here. My windshield was and is not broken, It JUST needs a new rubber thing NOW, but it was there when you picked it up and as it was not a problem before and it didn't need repaired. At least it was attached and not loose. Now its gone and the windshield is banging. Where did the rubber go from the time you picked it up and delivered it back to me? And if you knew there was a problem, why didn't you address it with me to repair it? I paid you $375 to repair my cart! 2. And if you had actually driven the cart to test it after repairing it, there is No Way on earth you did not hear that screeching sound in the steering wheel! 3. This is the first I'm hearing about kingpins, so I'm unaware of issues with that. Why didn't you address that with me? If you want to play with better clubs that are suited to your game, see Brad. Anyway I bought a driver and set of irons 4-SW. Brad recommended 4 wedges for my game and they have been working out great. I went back this week to add a hydride and 3 wood. I love the feel of the KZG clubs. I was hitting each one a bit further then my own. My wife was with me watching the process. She is a golfer too. Brad suggested she hit a few balls with her clubs. She then hit some KZG 3 woods and hydrids. Brad gave her some valuable instruction on her swing. Here is the point of this review. At no time did Brad pressure her to buy clubs. In fact he suggested she use her current 3 wood more often and then in the future if she wanted to be fitted come back to see him. All that at no charge. Brad took at least 30 minutes out of his day for her. All I can say is Brad is a hell of a guy, an excellent player and will fit you for clubs you need. Thanks Brad!
