UPDATE: July 4th, 2025…read more I've been coming back to this place 4-5 days a week SINCE my last review. The service has improved DRASTICALLY. My review was never about speed/wait times, or anything about product or store. It was ONLY on how insanely long it took SOME of the staff to acknowledge that a customer is in the store. Not because I need special attention, but because as someone in the industry for almost two decades, I was just dumbfounded by the lack of personal care. However, since then, they've all seemed to REALLY up there game. They're especially nice and attentive to me. I can't tell if its because I'm "that guy" who wrote the review... Or because they truly care and have actually focused on improving customer service across the board. Either way, the staff is very friendly, the drinks and food are AMAZING, ambiance is second to none in town, and I would recommend this place and service 11/10 times.

I went as a patron of a coffee shop and in this role I was quite pleased. We ordered espressos and a latte and they were on par with what I'd expect for a high quality coffee house. I would give our espressos/lattes 4 stars. The environment and service, which I consider at least as important as the beverage, was excellent as well. 5 stars for having a top notch local business with a pleasant environment and pleasant staff where I'd be happy to be a repeat customer.

I was first introduced to these delicious coffee cakes at the Kane County Flea Market in Illinois…read more Dave's Coffee Cake had a nice booth set-up where they happily offered samples. Chocolate Chip and Raspberry are my favorites. The moistness (yes, I know, we all love that word) can't be beat. So good. These cakes are rich and aren't healthy for you by any means, but they do make a great once-in-a-while splurge. Dave's is always offering deals, coupon codes (if buying online) and more. Really, the more you buy the better the deal. If I'm remembering correctly, the coffee cakes freeze well (if you are buying multiples). They would make great host/hostess gifts, or gifts in general. Would be great added to a brunch buffet. Highly recommend.

This place needs a huge lesson in customer service. I'm…read morevisiting from out of town and had heard decent things about this place, so I decided to give it a try. We walked in around 11:30 a.m. There was only one other customer (a dad and his son) and the person who walked in just before us, who appeared to either be a friend or a regular, based on how all three employees greeted her. While they were extremely friendly to her, we weren't acknowledged at all--not even a simple "We'll be right with you." Instead, the employees stood there for more than five minutes talking about how business was, how they slept, what they did over the weekend, melatonin, and other personal topics. During that time, no one took our order or made any effort to help us. After waiting, I finally said, "If you guys are going to keep having a conversation, can we at least order our coffee and get that started?" They looked at me like I had said something unreasonable. One employee, who was sitting at a table near the counter coloring, muttered something under her breath, and they still didn't take our order. Instead, they continued their conversation. At that point, we left. This experience was completely unacceptable. Great customer service starts with acknowledging people when they walk through the door, especially when your shop is nearly empty. Unfortunately, this first impression ensured we won't be back, and I can't recommend this business to others.
