We had no clue what was on them as I never marked them after I had made the recordings. They did a good job, I spent the next day watching them and making note of what was on them, I was satisfied that I could trust them with my memories, I have given them another 10 videos to convert. The place was a bit busy with only one person manning the desk and answering the phone, there were three others waiting to drop off /pick up their tapes, but it went fast. I have 4 records (78's circa 1961) and 5 VHS tapes (circa '95). They are recordings of my mom who was a mildly successful jazz singer. I thought these items were lost as they were in a storage unit in New Orleans, where we're from, when Katrina hit. In a strange and lovely chain of events, I got them back recently. They are, of course, not in the best of shape but, do have salvageable data. I spoke with Steve on the phone even and conveyed that they were old and damaged. He assured me they would do as good a job as possible. I got everything back yesterday and I am shocked. They didn't even bother cleaning the records before transfer. Nor did they bother to separate the cuts. Each album side was a recording. Obviously, the sound quality was tended to and every scratch and hiss to be found was found on my recordings. The VHS tapes were no better. The sound was stretched in spots. Not a surprise but, they did nothing to try and improve it. And, all of the DVDs were returned with recordings of the entire VHS, in other words, all the blank tape at beginning and end. The work was sloppy and lazy and the results worthless. It was not cheap either. I emailed Steve my disappointment and have gotten NO response. Obviously I also got not offer at a refund; partial or full, which is what I'm due. Being a small business owner, I write reviews regularly because I know how much they can help your business grow. In all my years this is only the second bad review I've ever given. I hope it helps you choose. If you have a very simple job, I'm sure they can handle it. But as they do not actually attempt to restore old recordings I find Nostalgic Media to be a very misleading name.

In our initial messages with the owner, she highlighted the fact that her company had insurance, which was something that most companies do not tell their clients and urged me to book with her for that very reason. Who would have known that we would actually need to take into consideration her insurance policy when an item in our home was broken. Here's a rundown of everything that happened. * The cleaner Asked if she could bring her kids * Used our vacuum instead of using her own * Broke the vacuum while using * Offered to only pay for half of the vacuum instead of buying another one * Offered to bring her vacuum for us to use until the replacement came but never brought it * Promised a delivery date of the replacement vacuum multiple times and missed the deadline multiple times without responding * Purchased a used, open box, beat up vacuum that was missing screws and ultra dusty. The box was so badly damaged, she was scared to deliver it in person. * The owner of the business handled the situation very poorly. For example, she never checked in to see if there was a resolution after the initial complaint and she received full payment. She told us in private that the cleaner should just cash app us because insurance would be too big of a hassle. She sent us a chatgpt response and forgot to take the cues out . Then after weeks of getting the runaround from the subcontractor about the replacement vacuum and no check in from the owner, we submitted a review on thumbtack detailing our experience. The owner finally texts us, lacking empathy and customer service out of nowhere saying she was in and out of the hospital. She began minimizing our complaint and accuses us of taking advantage of the situation when we gave her all of her money and got the runaround for over 2 weeks. We responded saying we were willing to update the review if she could assist us with getting the replacement vacuum. No response from her. Then she responds on the website a few days later saying she is being harassed and that we are unreasonable which clearly is not the case. After a resolution was unable to be reached on thumbtack, and the piss poor vacuum was sent to our home via an Uber courier, the owner blocked us. For the amount of money spent, no one should go through this. If yelp allowed zero stars, trust me that is what she would receive. I have all correspondence that is in complete contradiction of your words here. I think it's unfair for you to make your shortcomings as a business owner the fault of the customer. At the end of the day, I had a working BISSELL Power Lifter Pet Rewind with Swivel Bagless Upright Vacuum, 2259 vacuum and I should be given the exact same thing back. Your designee broke it and it's not my responsibility to accommodate you. It's your job to make me whole. See you in court.
