615chutTNey is an amazing spot to visit if you're craving Indian Cuisine. I personally have visited the spot multiple times for their lunch buffet and it does not disappoint! The service is great and friendly, and my personal favorite is their naan! Inside is a "warm/darker lighting" ambiance. I remember the first time I went they had live music where a lady was playing the harp on stage. Another time I went was with my girlfriend on Valentines Day. There are too many good Indian food spots in Nashville and surrounding areas to be reduced down to a spot like this. As they are on the inkind app, in the past I've used the app to pay for pickup orders. The last time I used it for a pickup order I tipped almost $30 on that pickup order. I call to place another pickup order as I have family here and wanted them to try one of our regular spots. I ask the employee just to confirm that it would be ok like it usually is and he says no all of a sudden and with a hint of an attitude. I say thank you, we end the call without me ordering anything, and I instead order the entire order from Jashan. I don't think businesses realize how important consistency of service is in this industry. I am quite aware this is one of those everything was usually good and the one time it goes bad I'm complaining situations and I stand by it. I've worked much of my entire adult life in the service industry so I know how EASY it is to provide good service. You actually have to go out of your way to provide bad service so it's more than fair to judge a business by their last interaction with you. 615chuTNey is a little place in a strip mall - I would have missed it if it wasn't for Yelp. They had live music, which was a little unexpected, but it was nice and background volume. I don't remember what I ordered, but it didn't matter. The server asked me a few questions and then proposed something completely different. He was right. The chicken korma is my favorite Indian dish I've had in Nashville outside of Chauhan. The portion sizes were perfect. My only regret was letting the server talk me down on the spice level. I have been to 615 many times and it is always the best! Dosas are one of my favorite foods and theirs is amazing. 615 is always my go to place in Nashville for a dosa. I always get the paper roast dosa which is giant, crunchy, and so delightful. This time when I went I went with one of my besties. Ordering is a little confusing in the restaurant because there is a QR code to order, but the options you get are either pick up or delivery. Our server told us that we can just make a note for which table the order was for so the kitchen would know, but we ended up just ordering in person with the server instead. That made it super easy. The owner, Niroop, is literally the best and always makes it a point to go to the tables and check in with customers. Literally just so wonderful. They have a full drink menu including alcohol and sometimes have live music, as well as art from local artists, so you can easily make a night of going there for dinner. I got myself a Thums Up which is an Indian cola drink. So good! The restaurant is located really conveniently in a complex so there is always plenty of parking, always a plus in Nashville. He is the staff are helpful to discuss the menu if you're unfamiliar with the cuisine. They often have music of different varieties, which is nice in this section of town. Good family atmosphere. Great experience - really would love to see this place succeed! You can tell the owners and employees take a lot of pride in their restaurant. We started with an appetizer - Masala Vadai. We ate here when we were travelling through Tennessee. I always try to find Authentic South Indian restuarants because they are rare at where I reside (Kentucky). You could tell if it's Authentic Tamil/South Indian restaurant just from the menu. Most of the items were unique to Tamil Nadu and I could tell. I got the original Chicken 65 and it came out "Original" as expected. If you get this from Indian restaurants here, it comes as a gravy/semi dry. Here it came crispy and fried as expected. It was delivered by a cute robot. I got Ceylon Veechu Chettinad chicken as a main. The chettinad chicken is stuffed inside the Veechu Parotta, which was kind of new to me, but tasted good regardless. We also got Paper Roast to share. I ended the meal with South Indian Filter coffee, and overall it was a trip towards my childhood memory lane of growing up in India. read more

My recent visit to 615Chutnry left me with mixed feelings about this restaurant. I visited with a large group, and I was the first to place my order. Ordering is done online and then food is brought out to your table. When food came for the group, the server was unsure which dish was which. He put one item in front of me, then said to wait, that he needed to check to see if that was right. It wasn't, so he took that plate away and gave it to one of my dining companions. So now, everyone had their food but me. I waited while they ate. Finally, someone flagged down a waiter and told him I was still waiting for my meal. When my meal finally came, well after everyone else's, I was told it was late because they had lost the order. It took an hour from when I ordered to finally receive my order. Despite the issue with ordering and receiving my food, I found the meal to be delicious. I had the chicken tikki masala, and the broth was rich and there was plenty of chicken. The dish was served with rice and a fry bread which was very good. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed our meals. Generally, when my dad tells me an Indian restaurant is quite good, it's always worth putting on my to-try list, and my visits to 615 Chutney have proven him yet again right. Despite the rise of good Indian food in the greater Nashville area, there aren't many South Indian places, and, being South Indian myself, I was eager to try this place. Have had a few visits to this place - once for the lunch buffet, a few times for dinner. It's a very different concept than other Indian restaurants. Focusing mostly on South Indian food (think idli, vada, dosa, avial, more vegetarian options but not a fully vegetarian menu), featuring a buffet for lunch and traditional menu for dinner with live music and phone ordering / a robot that delivers your orders, this is just a very fun and social concept compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. My parents love coming here with a big group of friends and ordering most of the vegetarian items on the menu for a fun and unique night out. Some favorites for us are the chana masala, the mixed vegetable curry, the layered kothu paratha, the poori (which was HUGE) and chai. We also thought the Frankie's 615 (like an Indian taco in a wheat flatbread) were really fun and unique compared to other Indian menus we have seen in the area. All around, this is a great addition of a for an Indian restaurant for the area and a win for South Indians looking for decent food in the area. Admittedly, I have had little experience with Indian food. I came to this place to join a group. The parking is super easy. I eat gluten free and when I scanned the QR code on the table to reveal the menu, I didn't see a designation of which items contained gluten, so we asked for a paper menu, and the items that are gf were clearly marked on there. Tikka masala was recommended, when it arrived it came with a delicious gf bread, which was the best part of the meal. The server asked what heat level I wanted on tikka masala and I asked for mild. Even so, it was so spicy I could barely eat it. Thankfully they had plenty of water on the table. If you are an Indian food lover, I understand this is a great place to come. My sister & I really just wanted to see if Indian food here was just as good as homemade or even the food we have in our hometown. I love that this place had a variety of different Indian foods, not just your typical butter chicken and naan (they don't have naan btw!). The vibes of the interior gave me like a fusion or modern style of India. Although the system of ordering is not your typical way of doing things, I honestly really liked it! You ordered and paid upfront on your phone so that you don't have to worry about waiting to pay at the end. Hanging Kites, traditional Indian umbrellas, Indian flags everything fantastic. This place had live music even on Tuesday which fascinated me even more. We were seated right in front of the stage for live music. It does not end here - everything is digitized here. You please the order on your smart phone and pay for it upfront from your table. You can track the status of your order on the phone like you can do for online order. And the best part was the food is delivered by a Robot. The Robot comes and stops right next to you and you can take the food from there and Robot says Thank you! Enjoy your food and goes back to the docking station. I found it pretty impressive. Best meal I had during my weekend trip to Nashville. We stopped by right at opening on Sunday. Seems there is a stage with live music acts performing, we really liked the integration of Nashville culture into an Indian restaurant. Loved the Nashville themed spoons, added a lovely touch consistent with the "chuTNey" theme throughout. My favorite was the dosa with chicken curry, best curry I've had in a long time. Dosas are HUGE enough for at least 2 people. We also got the egg dosa which was folded in a square and much more chewy, spongy, which I also loved. The idly tray was great and sambar was served in a special metal tin with extra ghee - divine! Staff checked in with us, bathrooms are clean and immaculate. I picked up a large order back in Oct. They messed up order by giving us Tofu saagwala instead of chicken and the native order of chicken tikka masala tasted just like the mild. Disappointing to say the least. I ordered online and tried using some new promo code for a 20% discount that went along with launch of new website or something. of course the promo code didn't work. I emailed that night and manager said they would refund portion back to credit card. I called the following week saying refund didn't happen and then manager proceeded to process the refund while I was on the phone. The owner went out of his way to offer advice, recommendations, and menu suggestions. The food was absolutely AMAZING! The staff is truly friendly and have been onboarded very well. I noticed the owner/GM (I think) walking around and greeting everyone. Many people stood up to give him hugs and share a personal story, so that was nice to see. They are clean! The tables, chairs, silverware, floors, and even restrooms are clean. This sometimes is a deal breaker for me but they have surpassed my expectations! (Yes fellow yelpers, my expectations are high with cleanliness ha!) I stopped by 615 Chutney for takeout for dinner tonight, and it was a really great experience. What I loved about the meal was that the restaurant specializes in South Indian cuisine, including dishes from the Chettinad region and the southern state of Tamil Nadu. Because they specialize in the cuisine of this region, the menu offered a lot of dishes I'd never had before. I had a hard time narrowing down what to order, so I just ordered A LOT and figured we'd eat it over a few days! Worth it. So what did we eat? From the starters section of the menu, we tried Egg Podimas (shredded hard-boiled egg tossed with veggies and Southern Indian spices) and Kyma Idli (shredded rice cakes grilled in South Indian spices and house-made masala with choice of protein - we chose lamb). The Egg Podimas was good - a sort of South Indian flavored egg salad since it was hard-boiled eggs rather than scrambled (which I found some recipes for online). The Kyma Idli was delish - well flavored and a good texture. I loved it. From the mains, we tried the Chettinad egg curry (hard-boiled eggs in a Chettinad curry tomatoes and onions), Kothu Parotta (shredded parotta/paratha cooked in spices with your choice of protein - for this dish I chose paneer), and pepper chicken curry (boneless chicken cooked in South Indian black pepper sauce). All three were really good. It was the first time I've ever had hard-boiled eggs in curry - yum! The chicken was tender and delicious. But the Kothu Parotta was my favorite. Both the Kyma Idli and Kothu Parotta reminded me of an Ethiopian dish I love - firfir (leftover injera cooked in a Berbere-spiced sauce). The idli and the parotta cooked down in their respective sauces to make for interestingly textured and very tasty dishes. I also ordered a dosa, but sadly the filling/paste for the dosa didn't make it into my to go bag. I look forward to trying it for real next time (it was the Nethili - anchovy - curry dosa, which sounds so interesting!). For dessert, we tried the Ras Malai (soft cheesecake patties soaked in milk flavored with cardamom), which was a good way to end a spicy meal! Despite trying so many dishes, there are a lot more dishes I'd love to try! They also offer dishes that are more familiar offerings from Indian restaurants if you want a familiar/already loved dish (Paneer Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, saag, Kurma, Vindaloo, Biryani, Chana Masala, Pakora, Samosas, dosas, and more). They have the dishes you already love and maybe some you haven't had the chance to experience yet (at least that was the case for us)! When ordering, they offer several spice levels for their dishes. We went with Spicy for our dishes and they were! I ordered online on their website. They texted me to confirm my order and then texted me when the order was ready. They have curbside if you prefer (I think you just call them when you're outside), but I just popped in to get my order after they texted it was ready. Their lobby area is pretty spacious, and no one else was inside waiting for their meal when I went in. It looked like they did offer dine in, but the few tables are really far apart and it wasn't busy inside. The menu is varied and exciting and the food is delicious. Other than forgetting a couple of items I ordered (the anchovy paste for the dosa and a drink I ordered), the meal was near perfect. And it's understand that certain items sometimes get forgotten with takeout and given how much food I ordered! I'll happily go back and get an absurdly large order of food again! read more
