It's Asian, It's a buffet. What's not to like…read more I admit it, I'm a sucker for a buffet. I love "grazing" through the offerings eating little of this and a little of that. In that respect the Star Buffet does not disappoint. One thing I can't tolerate is barely warm buffets, so I was happy to see that their 4 steam tables (at least12 feet long (accessible on both sides)) were doing a bang-up job of keeping the food nice and hot. Each hot serving table looked like they contained, maybe 10 - 12 lidded containers per side so there were ample foods to try. In addition there was an iced sushi area and a salad/ dessert table. All the tables were well stocked (and remained so for the length of time that we were there) so there were lots of different dishes to choose from. The hot food ran the gambit from the traditional rice, noodles and red chicken on a stick to frog's legs and crayfish. The sushi bar had like, six different items, but I'm not a person who enjoys that so I never tasted them. The only negative I had on the food was that (like many buffets) the food was somewhat bland tasting. I prefer more zest in my food, but I understand that not everyone can tolerate that intensity. As far as the building itself, they have converted an old fast food restaurant but the décor is pleasant and the facility is clean and inviting. Seating capacity looks to be in the 75 -100 range. We were there on a cold and damp Friday evening at 5PM (ish) and the place was about 75% occupied. The staff was friendly and efficient. The cooks were busy keeping the food table refilled and the waitstaff were attentive bringing drinks and clearing away dirty dishes quickly, without being obtrusive. The dinner buffet price was $15.99 per person with a 10% senior discount available. The large soft drinks (free refills) were $1.49 each. (Carry out is charged by the pound) Our out the door cost was a tad over $37.00. All-in-all, it's a buffet. It's not fine dining, but it's above average. I would recommend it .
