Go here (south of the river..) if you're looking for a bike workshop, cheap organic groceries, a zine library, radical and anarchist books and records, and a big radical archive. The place itself is pretty small and a squeeze amongst all the heavy literature, but that means discussions with the old school anarchists who tend to hang around there are always possible, and everyone is extremely helpful if you're looking for something in particular, or interested on learning more about the place, or even just browsing. I really recommend the zine library if nothing else, they have a really good range of different DIY zines. There's lots and lots of different resources and information on things from housing and homelessness to asylum seekers and veganism. Autonomous spaces are so important, and this place has been going volunteer run, not for profit, and without funding since 1991, and has evolved into a really useful space. There are usually things going on there too, so worth checking out upcoming events on their website. Tea and coffee also available...perfect! read more
