I really want to love this place, but unfortunately, my experience with both the gel manicure and pedicure was incredibly disappointing. The gel polish on my hands was thick, uneven, and full of bubbles, with polish pooled around the cuticles and not cleaned up at all. My pedicure wasn't any better--messy application, especially on the smaller toes, and the polish looked patchy and rushed. This was how my nails looked immediately after leaving the salon. I paid for a professional gel service and expected a much cleaner, more polished result. I'm hesitant to go back for a fix because I'm genuinely worried it might be done even worse the second time. I have been to this nail salon a few times now and this is the only nail salon that actually treats your nails with TLC. Not only that but this is the very first nail salon (and I've been to many) that is super interactive with their clientele/customers. They are an active group of people who clearly enjoy what they do. The first few times, I'd come in and just let anyone who was available do my nails and when Loki did my nails, I just knew he had to be my go to person. He is just delightful. She did it again and it was still clumpy and I said something but she said it's just the way it is (not true, nails should not be clumpy -- images shown below), also she was filing my nails so hard that it hurt so badly. This place SUCKS. I've been here multiple times but today is the last. I was desperate. Management is RUDE and they treat you like you're a problem when you ask to have something done that's not in their comfort zone. If the one woman who's good with designs isn't there, no one else can do anything even a tiny bit "fancy". After the woman started to do my nails, they didn't know how to ombré shimmer with the dip powder and refused to even try. I had already been in there over an hour and didn't have time to change the color to what I wanted since they were unable to do the design. My cuticles were cut multiple times and I'm bleeding. This is the 2nd time I come here. The first time I was taken care by an amazing tech who took her time with me and made sure she didn't damage my nails removing the gel color. I went in on tuesday to remove the dipped nail powder and just do a manicure. The lady which I dont know her name file ( she was asian) my nail sooo badly that I cant touch my finger tips. She kept using that machine and file my nail literaly making my nail bed so weak that I cant even touch anything. I told her not to file my nail so much and she kept going more then 10x. I am so upset because it took me so long to grow my nails and make them strong for this same reason and now I am in excruciating pain thanks to her. Phillip the owner is very nasty. The girls work hard but he's a slave driver. Especially when I have taken and repeat customers there and spend over $100 and I asked him how come if I'm treating my friends to Manny Petty I'm not entitled to the discount for them at least 10%. His response to me was the discount is only for you not your friends they have to have their own account. I understand that, but I am treating them. I brought the business. His response was if you bring 10 people that discount is still only for you well, I feel that if he's smart, he would give me 10% off on 10 people because he would be making a lot more money with 10 people and with zero people. Now he lost me as a customer and I will never go back because I've asked him several times how come I can't have this discount I bring a lot of money here and, I'm not looking to get over it. I have to tip on top of the hundred dollars. It cost me a lot of money. Why would you want to lose me as a customer? But that's life. Norma is the best and if everyone in the county she does pedicures there but I'm sorry to say I will miss her. Also only because her boss is a creep and not too friendly or smart. It's like they want to give you as little as possible and make as much money as possible it's not a service business and it's not super clean . They really took their time and did it right. The massage was out of this world. The full set was done by LOKI. This man is not only an artist, he is hilarious! I had so much fun getting my nails done! He is so skilled. I told him I wanted a classy French tip for a wedding this weekend and he did what he called a funky French tip. I am obsessed! When I went to go get my nails done with design, the lady who they gave me didn't even know how to lay down acrylic she was getting my fingers caked in wet acrylic and her gloves were sticking to my fingers. Do you know how unsafe that is? you're going to get someone sick. I'm not even a nail artist, but I know you're not supposed to get your acrylic bead that damn wet you're gonna give someone contact dermatitis. Then I wanted to get my design a French and a simple butterfly. She couldn't even do that, it looked horrible so I told her to take it off and I asked if someone else can do it .she said the other lady can only do the butterfly and I was like why I want the French as well. She said she can't and I said why? she said because she doesn't want to. So I explained all this to lady up in the front and how she is getting my fingers covered in acrylic. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Today was not my first time coming here although it will be the last. I walked in and asked for an acrylic new set which would've cost $52, so i was lead to a nail tech who had me soak my previous tips off. She then greeted another customer and started giving her a pedicure which I didn't mind since there's nothing she could do with me. Then 30 minutes pass by and I'm still soaking and she hasn't even came over to check on me. A few minutes later the receptionist comes over and starts filing off my nails and moves to a different table and continues to have me soak. 20 minutes go by and nobody has come to do my nails. UNACCEPTABLE , Luckily I was able to leave and not pay leaving me with unfiled ugly nails. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY COMING HERE! read more

The owner or manager (guy at the front desk) is really nasty and rude! I went in to fix one nail that broke from a previous gel manicure I had done there a week prior to. He asked me what the number of the gel color was and i told him I didn't remember the number so I asked to see the sample colors and I would find it. He started yelling at me because I couldn't remember the number of the color! I literally told him to relax and found the color right away after looking at the book of colors. He was so nasty, other customers were looking on. Then the woman who fixed my nail, filed the side of my cuticle so aggressively that I started to bleed. She said nothing, no apologies nothing. Didn't clean it. So I asked her to put some antiseptic on it and she laughed and said ok. The file they used was dirty and I now have an infection! It is so unbelievable that while everyone is wearing a mask yet you use dirty tools and files. I wouldn't be surprised if this business shuts down because of a COVID outbreak. You can wear a mask but if you have a dirty working area and tools, what good is that. Absolutely disgusting. With so many nail salons in the area why go back. read more

Don't be fooled by the 5 star name! My friend and I went here for my birthday, and we were extremely disappointed for many reasons. When they were prepping our nails they were very rough while filing and left jagged edges. The paint job was crappy and did not fully cover our nails, and the top coat got all over our fingers and they didn't bother to take it off. They didn't seem to understand the simple designs we asked for, although part of that might have been due to language barrier. The designs were not even painted on, they seemed to be old stickers that left a brownish streak behind. It felt like they were rushing to get it over with, even though they were not busy at all. My friend's nails started chipping the same day they were done. They didn't seem to have had any kind of training or prior experience. We asked for a matte top coat and they either didn't have it or didn't know what it was. When the awful manicures were complete, they dropped us off at the drying station and left us there without a word for at least 30- 45 minutes. When I go to other salons it usually only takes 10 minutes tops. Each manicure was $16 + tip, for something that wasn't what we wanted and not salon quality at all. After working his entire life in the business, he took everything he had learned throughout his long career and used that knowledge to open his own gorgeous nail salon here in Nyack. This salon is truly BEAUTIFUL and very spacious. Everything about this place is amazingly clean and new. There are so many nail stations and countless modern pedicure/spa chairs. When I come here, I feel welcomed and respected. My appointments are always kept on time, and my nails never look anything less than perfect. While I personally get my manicures and fill-ins from Phillip, my experiences with the rest of the staff let me know that they only hire the best. I have sent many many friends here and everyone always leaves happy. And as far as any negative reviews of this salon go, I can't imagine that they are all entirely valid. I have been going there long enough to know that the complaints in those reviews are simply not true. Phillip has been doing my nails for over 7 years and I have been coming to his new salon here since it opened. They are true professionals here. I do not settle for anything less than perfect for my nails, and this salon is as close to perfect as it gets. This place is THE WORST. I only go here because my nail technician moved to this new location. The owners are the absolute worst. First of all they have a frequent user rewards type program but when you go to use it, they get annoyed about you using it but today was the final straw. I had an appointment and my technician called out sick and nobody even bothers to contact me, so I said who is supposed to do my nails then I had an appointment for the last two weeks and they just shrug. Just got a gel manicure/pedicure here with Jally. She was great! Very friendly and eager to please her clients. I found the salon to be super clean and because it is so spacious, they are following the social distancing rules by sitting clients with one pedicure lounge chair empty in between, and they've also placed plastic screens at their pedicure lounges and manicure stations to separate the clients from each other as well as the manicurist. Good job! I love that they have a rewards program so that you can actually get something in return for getting your nails done here. read more

I went in for an acrylic set with powder color. I stated what I wanted and they did something completely different. There was no prep to the nails. I had polish on from a previous manicure and they did not remove it. After everything was glued, they asked me to pick a gel color I reminded them that I was not looking for a gel. In the end I chose a gel color because the acrylic was already glued on and I was short on time and didn't want to start over. They also did not shape the nail straight. I told the nail tech multiple times that the nail is not straight and she filed it even more on a slant instead of evening the other side. This happened to multiple nails. Along with this, under the nails were not cleaned and I left with all the gunk from the process under my nails. She also didn't manicure the cuticles or skin. I have a love hate relationship with this place but I always end up coming back. The staff are incredibly nice and welcome (except for the owners who always have an attitude). They nails are always done beautifully and quickly. I do have concerns however. One, they never do the nails I ask for. I always come with reference photos and they're are always done differently. Two they seem not to care for the health of the nails - I've had some questionable experiences of them taking off acrylics (one women pulled them off with no soak or filing at all). Needed a gel refill and could not get an appointment at my regular spot, so I tried 5 Star Nails. The receptionist was not friendly at first but was friendlier after I paid. Worst gel fill-in and polish. The polish was applied too thick and started to bubble. My manicure usually last 3 weeks or more. Could not go back because I was going out of town.
