I was unable to return it, so I looked at doing some alterations. I showed Rebecca what I had, and pictures of other dresses that had elements of what i wanted, and she was able to make it happen. I had a last minute, tight timeline and she graciously was able to fit me into her schedule. She was quick, but thorough, asking me a lot of questions to help me really suss out what I was hoping to achieve, both during the initial fitting and again when I went in to try it on. The original dress was listed and marketed for maternity photoshoots, so it was VERY transparent, with a very loose top and skirt, and an elastic waistband. I loved the flowy look, loved the sequin fabric, and I love an elastic waistband - but it did not give me the look or feel I wanted on my wedding day. Plus, I did NOT want a completely see-through dress haha. I asked for a tighter fitting top and sleeves, but to keep the back open and the off-the-shoulder look if possible. I also asked for the front of the top to be lined, and the skirt as well. When it came to choosing the color of the lining fabric, I didn't feel very strongly about it except I didn't want white and I just wanted it to look nice in the end; she found a great wine-colored chiffon, and while it looked beautiful in her shop, I could never have anticipated how PERFECT it ended up being while we were taking photos. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day, and I have received so many compliments on just the dress alone! Can't recommend Modify Alterations & Boutique enough! Thank you Rebecca!!

I took a jacket in to get the sleeves altered and to add patches. They forgot about it and I had to…read morecall weeks later to ask when it would be done. They hadn't even started on it & I needed it for a trip coming up. They got it done on time, but when adding the patches, they sewed EVERY pocket on the jacket shut - all 5 of them! So I cannot use any pockets on the jacket and if I cut the threads to open them, the patches will come off. It's unbelievably inconvenient to not have any useable pockets! They should have known better.

The dresses are a simple material and nothing fancy at all. I paid a little over $100 for the flower girl dresses, and my bridesmaids dress was around $169. The cost just to hem the dresses, no other alterations, came out to $285. I am not kidding you. How does hemming a simple dress cost almost as much as the two smaller dresses combined? Those dresses are a size 8 and a size 10 in girls, so they were not even a ton of material. Extremely dissatisfied with the price and I should have shopped around more or asked friends whom they go to so I realize this is my fault. Sick to my stomach. I'm sure there's someone out there who can do equally as good work for a more reasonable price.

I was not pleased with my experience. I had a dress altered and the seamstress made alterations…read morethat were not discussed when I dropped it off. She tried to justify why she altered the dress the way she did rather than taking blame or calling me to explain why she thought she needed to make these alterations before doing so. This resulted in the dress being ruined and left me having to get a new one altered. She still charged me for the alterations and then proceeded to say I was being overly dramatic and was by far the worst customer service I have had. I like to be able to give back to small businesses like this in the community but this experience has ruined it for me.

In this day and age it is very hard to find people in this age bracket that understand how to provide good customer service. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Colton, my consultant, went above and beyond to find the best fitting suit for the best price for me. It was a great experience. He and the other in the store were friendly and helpful. I even got the pants hemmed quickly by their seamstress, even though it was close to closing time. Would come here again.
