Rude disrespectful owner, definite avoid!
I went to the class 3 times, and two ended up very unpleasant. The first time I went, teacher arrived 15 minutes late and the studio was locked. I waited with 4-5 students outside and tried to call Deborah (teacher of that class / owner of the studio), and there wasn't an answer. She showed up eventually, and gave no apology nor explanation. With the registration and preparation, the class started 30 minutes later, which caused delay to my other appointment after that class. I did not enjoy the class because of the unprofessional beginning, which lead to my inability to concentrate during the class. She was not the only teacher at the studio, so my friends and I tried to avoid her by choosing other teacher. I enjoyed the second class. However, the third class we signed up, the teacher didn't show up, so Deborah, the owner came in and said she will replace that instructor, again with no apology and no other explanation. We noticed the room was not hot, but because the class started late (again), we thought maybe they just started the heating, so we stayed and waited, and it never became hot or even warm. During the class, once we started meditation, Deborah the teacher left the room and came back 10 minutes later to end the meditation (made noise with the opening and closing the door, of course). This is unacceptable and disrespectful because as an yoga instructor, she should know that silence is the basic and essential part of meditation. In addition, she was reading some loose pages to find what's the next exercise she wanted us to do during the practice, a complete improvisation! Naturally after the class, I requested that this class not to be counted in my 15 classe coupon because that was not what I wanted, and I was not informed that it wasn't going to be, and she said no, you already had the class and I told you I was replacing the teacher who was supposed to be there. She also said her studio was not designed to give hot yoga classes, and if we want real hot yoga, we should go somewhere else, when her website clearly listed weekly hot yoga classes and when the title of her coupon was "$35 for 15 Yoga Classes, Including Hot Yoga at Montreal's #1 Yoga Studio, Zen Tai ($202 Value)". When we asked her if she could post a note on her website or call us about class cancellations, she said she can't call 20 people before class (we only had 8 people in that class) just because a teacher can't make it, and we only paid 3-5 dollars a class so we can't expect the VIP service.
