Update based on Gol's response:…read more - Your response to our review is inaccurate and shows the lack of communication we experienced. You told us how busy you were today having 2 other displays/events and it's obvious that we didn't get the best quality based on how busy you were. - We really just wanted to chat through this with you to figure out a reasonable updated price, but you avoided discussing it with us and never responded, so we made this review. - We did not say 6-7pm was fine for pickup. We mutually agreed on 4pm specifically bc our son goes to sleep between 6-7pm and we wanted everything from the party cleaned up before that. - The fact that it fell over again AFTER your employee supposedly fixed it, says it all. We had to go find bags of gravel to try to keep it standing during the middle of our party. - We did not leave her "equipment" in the street. We live in a nice neighborhood and we left your wooden boards near our front door, leaning safely against our house. - Gol was over 3 hours late to pickup her "equipment" so we actually thought we were doing her a favor, bringing everything to the front of our house. Super disappointed to be honest - these things happen. I'm disappointed at how poorly she handled the situation and how blatantly false her response was. ‍ --------------- Original post: Super disappointed bc they have so many 5 star reviews. - They showed up late to setup - The design was not what we asked for and confirmed prior to payment and the pictures she sent us confirming the design were not what she brought on the day of the party. - The display fell over numerous times, nearly falling on a few toddlers playing right next to it. - The balloons repeatedly came off and were popping - They were 3+ hours late in picking up the displays at the end of the day - We politely texted Gol stating why were weren't happy and she said she'd be there in person to address our issues. Instead of talking to us, she picked up her displays with out telling us she was here and stopped responding to us. Never using her services again. You're better off finding someone else!

We rented 54 chairs and approx 11 tables. The tables are very old and made of wood. You can…read moreobviously hide them with nice thick table cloths but one table fell 2x on us. We could not use it due to safety. It was a very heavy long table with a leg that did not have a safety on the latch. The chairs that were delivered were absolutely unacceptable as they look like they had been dragged across the concrete many times. They were very very worn and scratched. We called the office before the delivery man could leave. We were able to request a different chair that were provided for the same price as I was now going to pick them up. The lady was very nice. We were originally told the tables and chairs would be set up and taken down. There was somehow a mix up and the guy just said I don't do that and left. The lady at the office assured me it would be done for the pick up. We just took them down ourselves. Not a big deal but the set up sure would have been nice. I had free tables and chairs from our church but chose to pay$ in order to not have to pick up or set up. Their linen rentals are twice as much $ as our caterer too. I would definitely reconsider this decision if I could do it over.

I was needing to fill a propane tank and they had a banner flying that advertised as much. I went inside and was greeted promptly. I asked if they filled propane tanks or just exchanged them (empty for full ones, which some places only do). I was told that they do do refills, but there was a five gallon minimum. Wait, WTF? My tank wasn't completely empty, and I didn't want to pay for extra just to reach a minimum. This is still America, right? I asked the lady why they had a minimum. She said it was policy. I asked why they had that policy. I asked if they could change it for me. I then shook my head in disbelief as I exited. I understand why policies and rules and regulations exist in this world. However, when you lose a sale and a potential return customer because a policy that exists for no explainable reason is just inexcusable!

We couldn't have been happier with our decision to hire Sylvia and her team at Affordable Party…read moreRentals! Communication was always on time, and she was always supplying us with the information we needed. What I liked most about this company was that Sylvia gave me a quote along with different ideas and packages to choose from. Instead of me having to tell a company exactly what I wanted and how much I wanted to spend, I really liked having different options and packages to choose from. It made the whole process so much easier. We hired Sylvia for our daughter's 18th birthday party for about 25 people, and everything was perfect. They came early in the morning on the day of the event and set everything up, then came back about an hour before the party started with the food. Everything was right on time and looked amazing. The food was delicious as well, and we had plenty of leftovers. Not one complaint about the food, and these were 18-year-old girls, so that says a lot! We also had a photo booth and the telephone where the girls could leave private messages for the birthday girl. That was such a fun and special touch and ended up being one of my favorite things. Aesthetically, everything looked beautiful, and I'll add some pictures so you can see for yourself. Everyone we worked with from Sylvia's company was professional, friendly, and very efficient. At one point, the wind knocked over some of the photo booth decorations, and they came over right away and fixed everything without us even having to worry about it. One other thing I loved about working with Sylvia is that she is a Navy veteran. If supporting a veteran-owned business is important to you, this is a great way to do it while also getting an amazing product and service. I would absolutely recommend Sylvia and Affordable Party Rentals to anyone planning a party or event. They made everything so easy from start to finish, and we will definitely be using them again!

I first reached out to them on Oct. 21 on their website. When I didn't hear back a week later, I called them up on October 27th and was able to get ahold of Rita. I told her that I filled out the form on her website a few days ago but haven't heard back. She said they've been backed up so it's taking a while for them to get through all the requests. On the phone, I was able to get a quote from her for 100 clear Chiavari chairs for my La Jolla ceremony in February at $4.95/chair plus $200 in setup fee. I was very happy with the price and asked if she could send me a formal invoice. She said that she will do. Fast forward to November 16, I realized that it's been more than two weeks and I still haven't heard from Rita. I sent her an email to follow up and sent her another one a few days later when she didn't respond. I also called the business number twice and it's all gone to voicemail. This is just horrible business etiquette to ghost your potential customers and never respond to them again. Even if she's no longer available for my date or no longer want to take me on as a customer, she should have done the courtesy of writing me back to let me know. Instead, I've been waiting for a month for her to get back to me thinking that I have my ceremony chairs secured and now I have less than two months to find another vendor.
