I cannot recommend 4E enough! I encourage anyone who even has an inkling of wanting a doodle to highly consider buying from and supporting 4E. When we began on our journey to finding the best doodle breeder, we found out about 4E on Reddit, and I'm so glad that we did! After researching several other breeders out there, 4E is simply the best there is, and here are the reasons why:
1. 4E's levels of transparency & accountability are unparalleled. In our vetting phase, we purposely followed multiple breeders on social media. 4E is the *only* breeder that posts frequently and provides not only the cute photos, but actual videos demonstrating how the 4E team spends time with the puppies to make sure they're exposed and socialized properly. You will not find another breeder that is as open and honest about her practices -- the highs, the cutes, and also the hard parts about being a breeder. What you see is absolutely what you get, and for that, we are truly thankful.
2. Conducting and sharing Puppy Evaluations to enable clients to make the best decision for ourselves (and the puppy too). Let's face it: all of the puppies are really cute, and unless one is a dog behaviorist/trainer/expert, you can't make an objective decision on which dog to choose, which is where the Puppy Evaluations were invaluable. Based on the evaluations that were made available a few days prior to go home, my wife and I were able to rank our choices based on which puppy would fit into our lifestyle the best. Furthermore, the evaluation was incredibly valuable in informing how we raise our puppy. Jeanette told us explicitly that our puppy was highly food motivated and would "eat himself to oblivion if he could." As such, we are highly conscientious about how we feed him -- we will likely never allow him to free feed. If we didn't know this crucial piece of information, it's likely that our dog would have been overweight/obese in his older age because we didn't know better! That being said, owners also play a huge role in shaping and developing their puppy, so definitely use the evaluation as an input to raising him/her, but by no means is it an end all, be all.
3. Sharing a host of Go Home Puppy Videos. Jeanette has a very comprehensive Puppy Go Home package, which includes dozens of videos to prepare owners for their puppy's arrival. Videos range from what a dog first aid kit should entail, to sit on the dog videos, to grooming products. As a first time dog owner, I can't emphasize enough how helpful they were and they really set us up for success.
4. Last but not least, 4E is an open door. Despite running a bustling kennel and juggling multiple litters at any given time, Jeanette was willing to chat on the phone, email, and text about any questions/concerns we had. I am also reassured that our relationship does not end once we go home with the puppy; Jeanette followed up a few weeks after go-home to check in and see how we are doing/adjusting. Best of all, there is a 4Ever Facebook group where you can keep in contact with her and other 4E families to share stories, concerns, etc. As a client, her high degree of accessibility increased my confidence in her as a breeder and a responsible businesswoman.
We've had our mini goldendoodle, Kona, for about 3 weeks now, and our time with him has only proven 4E was and is the right choice. He is a very well adjusted puppy, and we have Jeanette and her team to thank for that! I would 100 times over get another doodle from 4E again. read more
