WARNING!!! Barb is being dishonest and scamming people out of money. My friend and I both bought puppies from Barbara. We each bought a Shihpoo and a Multipoo. Four puppies in total costing a total of $3200. Alarms did go off, that I choose to ignore, that she doesn't provide pictures of the parents with their pedigree registration which is usually given by breeders. A DNA test was ran on my Shihpoo. Needless to say MY SHIHPOO IS NOT A SHIHPOO. She was not Shih Tzu and Poodle but was a mixture of 10 different breeds. She has more Maltese in her than Shih Tzu! Barb was super friendly and accommodating. She answered my many, many questions and let me FaceTime in to see the pup ahead of time. I messaged her on Facebook at first but then ended up texting her and got much quicker responses that way. I liked Barb's professionalism with paperwork and payment processing, it made me feel secure that she was legit. She even had requirements after we took the puppy home that we send pictures of poo to make sure the puppy was being feed and taken care of properly. We picked up our puppy on time and freshly bathed and ready to go. The only down side was a few days after taking our puppy home, she got parvo. There is no guarantee where she got it from, and when I messaged Barb about it she called immediately to check in, and gave advice on care. She called daily to check in from there. After a large vet bill to save our puppy, Barb offered a refund on the charge of the puppy to help with our situation. I think this shows a lot of customer service, since she was not obligated to refund us and there was no way of telling where the puppy got parvo from. We purchased Bowbow (AKA FRODO) on Dec 12 from Barbs Precious Pups, Thursday night Bowbow threw up (obv Mannie and I thought it was normal as he was in a new place). On Sunday Dec 15 Bowbow started to throw up again (multiple times) and did not have the energy he had the last two days. The puppy slept all day and it wasn't until 5pm that I decided to take him to the Vet. Obviously the vet was close so I took the dog to an emergency vet, they said BowBow aka Frodo had Parvo. I am sitting at the Vet office furious as to how someone could have sold me a sick dog. I was so upset that I knew that I was going to break my daughters heart. Luckily I caught the parvo right on time and they gave him some antibiotic and a B12 to get him through the night until his Vet appointment Monday morning at 8am. During this entire time I am going back and forth with Barbara. She stated that she wasn't aware he was sick, she didn't have the dog tested as he didn't show signs. Parvo Symptoms take 3-10 days before they start showing signs. If they are not treated right away a dog can pass away within 48hrs. As a 'Hobby breeder' (per her home made contract) she gives you insurance for 30 days, that emergency Vet visit cost me $255. Again, the entire time that I was at the Vet I was in constant communication with her, I had purchased the dog for $600 after she wanted to sell him for $800 as he was the last from the litter. Here I am at the Vet trying to figure out what the best decision is. The vet cannot guarantee that he will survive and gave me a 60% chance of survival. All of this meant that he would be hospitalized for 5-7 days and it could cost thousands of dollars. Monday morning Barbara texted me Monday morning stating that she would give me a refund. I informed Barbara that Bowbow had a doctors appointment at 8am and we could discuss the hospital bill after. Barbara asked to call her in which she informed me that she would not pay for the hospital bill and that she could get the dog better at home for a couple hundred (As a breeder, you should be sure the dogs you are selling are healthy). At this point I have paid $255 at the emergency Vet out of pocket, the insurance that she offers stated I had to file a claim and it could take 6-8 weeks before I saw a refund. The Insurance determine that the parvo was consider a pre-existing condition and would not reimburse me the $255. I am furious that I am in this situation as it's her responsibility as a 'breeder' to sell healthy dogs, Barbara's excuse is that she didn't know, he didn't show signs and she only tests the dogs if they show sign. To make the story short, we took the dog to her and she refund me my money. She informed Mannie Pajela that that she would keep us updated and if he got better and if we still wanted him we could pick him up. Barbara texted me through the week of Dec 16 updating me on the puppy's status. I told Barbara that we would be more than happy to take the dog back once he was cleared by the vet, Barbara agreed to that. Monday, December 23,2019 Barbara texted me stating that the puppy was going to the Vet and getting cleared. Barbara calls at 9am to ask when I wanted to pick him up and that his blood work was all good to go. I contacted Barbara at 3pm to set a time for pick up, she informed me the dog was still at the vet and wouldn't be back at her house until 6:15. I texted her stating that I could pick him up at the Vet since she had errands to do. During this entire week at no point did Barbara state that I would have to pay for the dog. Keep in mind that she was going to refund me the money allow me to keep the dog as long as I took care of the hospital bill. IF SHE HAD SOLD A HEALTHY DOG WE WOULDN'T BE IN THIS SITUATION, but because she didn't want to take responsibility of having to pay for the hospital bill she asked to bring the dog for her to take care of it. There was no way I was going to pay for something that a breeder should be responsible of before selling the dogs. She was never clear or upfront and I gave her the benefit of the doubt of being an honest person. Here we are now, she is now re-selling the dog that she sold to me sick because he was 'cleared' by her Vet. I refuse to pay her 300$ for a dog that I bought sick had to take to the emergency vet pay $255 and because she feels that she reimbursed me that makes it right to want to charge again. Bowbow(Frodo) is worth the $300 but Barbara is not worth getting that money as she sold a sick dog. It is her responsibility to sell healthy puppies. All she will provide are copies of his shot record, Paper looks like homemade and home given vaccines from the feed store, which aren't always reliable or effective If dog got shots from a vet, they would have dr stamp and the vaccine stickers on the paper. read more

I called the animal hospital they have never seen or even know who she is. They had me send a picture of the receipt and called me back said it was a false document they do not know who she is. She gives false documents. She claims she micro chipped him, I have to make sure at his Vet appt it's there. I think I will do what the other people have done by doing a DNA. Our puppy was home 2 days and had to be rushed to the hospital with Parvo. 5 days later and a half pound thinner she finally got home. I purchased a beautiful black and white MORKIE (Maltese and Yorkie mix) after 4 months my Vet did a DNA blood sample and we found out the he was NOT A MORKIE but a Poodle/Yorkie/Terrier Mix. "Return the dog and I'll refund you" and "my Black Poodle must have snuck in there" if you are a licensed breeder in the state of Nevada, you are obligated to secure the animals you are breeding so that this type of incident does not occur. BUYER BEWARE In December of 2020, my husband who wanted to surprise me for Christmas with a purebred Yorkie went with my friend who was also purchasing a purebred Yorkie to pick up their pups at Barbs Precious Pups. They each paid $2200. for the puppies. This litter was born on October 7th, 2020 and were advertised as purebred Yorkies. There were 5 pups in the litter, 1 female and 4 males. A few days later my friend was hospitalized for having Covid19 and was not back home until February. My husband and I also had mild cases of the virus. My husband then fell and was hospitalized for 6 weeks with a head trauma. The point is I started to question the looks of my pup as he grew and could not compare him to his sister. Finally after being questioned by the vet and a groomer as to whether he was full bred Yorkie and was finally able to see his sister I realize there was a problem. His sister looked Shi Zhu and not sure what mine looked like. He has a smooth sleek coat. I contacted Barb and was she finally admitted to me that two months prior she had the mother tested and found out she was Shi Shi, Yorkie and Poodle; and I'm not even positive what the father is since she said he belonged to a friend. We were never contacted and given this information. As a breeder you should know what you are breeding. Where I come from no matter how cute they are they are still mutts and not some expensive purebred. After some communication with Barb and requesting she refund money she quit communicating with me. To me, she is very dishonest and I will pursue legal steps. I refuse to be swindled. We love the pup but he is still just a mix breed mutt and should not have cost my husband or friend $2200. Bought a couple of Shit-Zu pups from her in 2015. She was really nice and very attentive. We took the pups home. Our vet did not accept the shot records that were given to us. Said that the shots were given from the breeder and not a board certified Vet. So we had to restart the whole shots again. Not to big of an issue. But 6 month in, one of the pups developed Cherry Eye. Took him to the Vet and he said that usually happens to smaller breads, that their parent (mother) gets bred to many times and the pups come out with this type of things. He said to contact the breeder and they should pay the cost of it usually under pup warranty. Called her up and that's where the niceness became rudeness. The cost was in the $500+. She only agreed to pay a fraction of the cost and I was stuck with 3/4 of the bill. When I went to pick up the money she was very curt and seemed like she wanted to get ride of me quickly. My boyfriend and I were looking for a Yorkie pup to add to our family from Craigslist and a pet boutique for a couple weeks. None of them caught our eye and we also didn't really want to support pet stores bc of the whole puppy mill issue. I looked at her Facebook page and Yelp and it seemed like she had an honest business due to her 20+ years of experience in the pet industry. We bought a 3 month old male Yorkie puppy from Barbara this past Friday (12/18/15) and had to sign a contract about the puppy's health warranty which is posted on her website. She said that he had a little cold/cough which was why he was the last one available from his litter bc "she was taking care of him & giving him antibiotics & that he was okay now." She instructed us to visit her vet at Advanced Animal Care Hospital in Boca Park for a free health exam in the next few days. We took him to her vet today and our poor little pup was diagnosed with kennel cough. We had to pay $100+ today just for his medications. I should have known something was sketchy when she gave us his ACA certificate because the name listed as the owner/breeder was Starmye Halpain instead of Barbara. I thought Barbara professionally bred dogs and sold her litters, but I guess that's not the case. Seems like she buys litters from backyard breeders to resell them bc I searched up the breeder's name and a lot of complaints came up saying Starmye Halpain has a puppy mill and sells sick dogs. Don't get me wrong, we could easily get a refund due to the health warranty we signed but she will only do a refund or an exchange for another pup if we gave back our dog but not reimbursing us for the medical bills we will now have to take care of. But of course we won't just give him back for money bc in the short four days of having him, we already love him so much and he's part of our family now. No matter where he came from, we're just glad he's in our hands now to take care of him 110% and give him the life he deserves. Hello future fur parents! 2 years ago, my wife and I were looking for a Yorkiepoo. After doing some research, we came across Barbs website and decided to reach out. We had an opportunity to go to her house and see the new "Yorkiepoo pups. When we initially asked about the parents, we were told the father was a miniature poodle and the mom was a Yorkie. When we asked to see them, we were told the mom tried to kill the pups, which totally alerted my spidy senses. My thought was, If that was true, the pups could have some issues going forward. Sure enough, our pup has had worms, multiple ear infections and through the recommendation of Barb, we took her to the vet in Summerlin. Unbeknown to use, we found out that the other pups in "Miss Honey's litter where having similar issues as well. And honestly the staff didn't think highly of her because of the conditions in which the animals were in. Litter after litter... Fast forward two years and the saga continues... Miss Honey is a happy and healthy dog, but we always wondered if she was really half Yorkie. She certainly looks more poodle than Yorkie. After conducting a blood DNA test, we recently found out, that our dog "Miss Honey" is 3/4 poodle and 1/4 shih tzu and another mixed breed. Please don't support this woman!.
