The building and all amenities of the 414 Flats resemble that of a project community! This is NOT a nice, safe community. It has a nasty, dirty feel and the building smells. We were blown away by the amenities and photos on the website and the descriptions given to us by the leasing agents. Boy, were we shocked when move in day came. The apartment was NOT cleaned and looked as if it had been sitting for many months. The minute we walked in there was musty, mildew-y smell. Air conditioner vents were full of thick lint/dust, the counters and cabinets were dirty, as well as the bathroom floors and tub. Upon bringing it to the attention of the previous management, they came and looked at the apartment and agreed it was nasty. They did not offer to remedy the problems. Fast forward several months...management has changed 3 times. The current company is Goldelm and I can tell you that over 90% of the current tenants are NOT satisfied with their customer service, upkeep of the building, or the timeliness of their responses. The building is pet friendly, and many of the tenants have a dog or two (this isn't the problem). The building needs and used to be cleaned daily by a housekeeper. Elevators were disinfected and mopped DAIY, each of the 8 floors of the building were vacuumed DAILY, and the ground floor lobby was swept and mopped DAILY! Since Goldelm, secretly (no one knew until they put letters on all doors threatening evictions because of the increase in water utilities), acquired the building (beginning of May) this is not even done once weekly. Rain, wet pets, working adults, etc. in and out of the building can cause quite a mess and the floors, elevator, and carpets on each level definitely showed and smelled it. There was ONLY ONE working elevator for 18 days! So on any given day, we would have to wait over 5 minutes for the elevator. Yes taking the stairs was an option IF you lived on a lower floor, or IF you were physically able to take many flights of stairs up or down. This was a major concern for many of the residents as some of them are older, have small children, broken leg, or several dogs. Almost every day there were several very visible accidents from someone's pet(s) on or near the elevator. For 3 days there was dog poop in the elevator covered by napkins. When I reported it to the manager, he brushed it off. It remained for several more days until I decided to clean it myself. There is dog poop everywhere outside. Grass, sidewalk, parking lot, EVERYWHERE... watch your step!! Since moving in, my fiancé and I have suffered many health issues. He has been the sickest! Chest congestion, constant coughing, and we both wake up with headaches EVERY morning. Three weeks ago we contacted management about testing our apartment for mold, to date, nothing has been done. The manager came out to "look" for mold, they sent a "company" to look for mold, but no one has tested our apartment for mold. I have called corporate over 4 times about them coming out and testing our apartment or releasing us from our lease ASAP, they keep telling me they will call me back in a few hours but they never call back, and now they do NOT answer my calls nor have they responded to my voicemail messages. The pool. I will tell you the views of the city and mountains in the backdrop are BEAUTIFUL, however, the pool and the pool area are nasty. Even though the pool is now "fixed" there is still mold floating around in the pool, broken tile on the corner of the pool, a shredded safety net, and garbage is not emptied daily. Please do not be fooled by the pictures or the pristine, immaculate look of the office and the model apartment. Ask a resident, ask to see ALL areas, ask to visit a few vacant apartments (because I assure you there are plenty vacant), ask to visit each floor, this will allow you to see more of what it is REALLY like to live here. I am sure the "Owner" will reply like they have done with other reviews, this is because they want potential residents to think they actually care about what is going on here. They don't even care about providing support and resources for their employees. I feel sorry for the manager of this dump. He is constantly getting chewed out and questioned, but corporate is not supporting him. They don't respond to him nor do they respond to the residents as promised. Dear owner please email me or call me so that we may speak. I plan on providing an update soon...stay tuned. read more
