They auctioned it off in several sales over the ensuing months, auctioning the last of it November 1, 2025. (The sale July 27, 2025 for example grossed $2,950.) The heirs have received NO accounting of ANY of the sales and not a cent of the proceeds. This is a clear violation of the Ohio Auctioneer law. Justin Karp has said many times he would send an accounting the next day, but has never done so.

The company invented many mechanical machines that helped speed work during the Industrial Revolution, including lathes, boring mills, centerless grinders, and radial drills. Although Cincinnati Milling Machine was around until the 1970s, many of its original machines are still in use today, both in corporations and personal woodworking shops. Enter Cincinnati Machine. This company sells spare parts for the old milling machines, many of which are custom fit or unavailable elsewhere on the market. It's wonderful that this business is not only helping restore some of the highest quality foundry mechanics ever produced, they are also preserving a piece of Cincinnati history.

Walking in brought back that old, wonderful feeling of stepping into a real bookstore--the kind where every room feels warm, comfortable, and beautifully put together. Each space is thoughtfully arranged by category, making it easy to browse while still giving you that fun feeling of discovery. The atmosphere is homey, peaceful, and inviting. Your eyes naturally wander from room to room because every area has its own charm. They even have a banned books section, which immediately caught my attention because, if you have a wild heart like mine, you want to know why they were banned. Sure enough, I ended up finding three books there that came home with me. I also loved that they carry both new and gently used books, all at prices that feel like a great value. Many titles are available in both hardcover and paperback, giving you options instead of just a single copy on the shelf. The people working there are kind, helpful, and welcoming. When you check out, they don't just ring you up--they ask if you found everything. And if you didn't, they'll gladly order it for you, let you know when it arrives, and have it waiting for your next visit. That kind of old-fashioned customer service is becoming harder and harder to find. They also carry local merchandise, making the store feel even more connected to the community. Novel Hearts is beautiful, personal, and exactly the kind of place that reminds you why shopping local matters. I hope many more people discover this new gem.
