Leaving another mega-sized new home community in west Boynton... If I had gone east I would have seen people, gas stations, restaurants, buildings, et cetera; but no, I went west toward no-wheres-ville. I'm a bit hungry and need gas, but there is not much out in this area other than palm tree farms and other agricultural businesses. It's like the perfect area to discard a murder victim. I see a gas station/food market... fueling time and possible eats. Inside it's more or less like any gas station mini-market, except for a couple hot cases with average looking food like veggies, lasagna, fried chicken and more. They have bagels and make sandwiches and even have jamaican beef patties. It's kinda odd; includes jewish food, italian food, southern food, caribbean food... And then the crème de la crème, an entire case of made on the premises mexican and other latin eats like cuban sandwich (with mayo lieu of yellow mustard), spicy sausage on cuban bread, arepas, potato & egg wraps, soft shell tacos, burritos. Nothing looks delicious but the prospect of trying something was still somewhat exciting; kinda made me feel like Andrew Zimmern's sidekick on Bizarre Foods show. Here's what we had: Three soft shell tacos: the package said beef but who knows; could have been armadillo or horse meat... I'll never really know. One was super hard, one was super mushy and one was just right.... but all were drenched with grease. The first bite shot grease all over my shirt; after a few bites there was not a single spot on my hands that wasn't glistening with grease. We're talking DEFCON 1 messy. Spicy sausage on cuban bread: the sausage was wrinkly and dry on the outside but plenty soft and moist in the center. The bread was hard enough to hammer nails into a board. WE WERE WARNED that it says "spicy" on the package. We acknowledge and the clerk emphasized, "it's really really spicy". Turns out we should have listen, that shit was HOT ! ! ! My experience here was unusual and exciting but at the same time I wouldn't eat here ever again. Maybe i'd eat this stuff again if perhaps we were in a post apocalyptic world and there was nothing else available.

Anyone who drives 441 by Boynton Beach Blvd has seen this large Shell station and market. I never go there because the gas is usually 25+ cents more. Today at noon I was below empty and had to at least put 10 bucks in. While I was there my growling stomach brought me inside to the market. I had been here before a few years back and know many contractors & landscapers working out west ways swear by it. I swear I probably wont go back. I got 2 fried chicken thighs that actually were pretty good. It being a nice day I wanted to sit outside at the tables. I plopped the container of chicken down and sat down and felt something on my leg. It was fresh bird shit. I then gave the table a good look and there was bird crap not only on my table but all 3 tables. There were at least a dozen birds of a couple different species lining up and jockeying for position waiting for my crumbs. Others were parading all over (and no doubt shitting) on the other tables. Pretty gross! I got up and went to my car where I ate my lunch. Got me thinking about sanitation. Also thinking it was a sign that maybe I should skip the place. Owners may want to consider screening in the area.

Decent little market and deli attached to a Shell gas station. This deli and gas station is most frequented by landscapers and truckers being it's out of the way and in a dead area of State Road 7. The deli compares to nothing in New York and most of the foods have a Latin flair to it, but I can't fault it for its price and convenience. On the other hand the price Shell charges for gasoline here.....

    Food was delicious

Don't bother. Proud of their prices. Imagine 1 pint of yellow rice at $9.60 and scrawny chicken 8 pieces $11. Will never be back ever.

The market features gourmet sandwiches and salads, locally-sourced fresh fruit options and pastries, snacks, specialty sodas, juices, local beer, wine and more. They offer a wide array of options to quench your thirst and satisfy your palate. Prices are average and expected for a market inside a hotel. Staff is friendly and attentive. On this particular morning, I was greeted by a very nice lady who was not bothered when I asked her to warm up the croissants. I believe her name is Brittany. Great customer service with a smile.

Provisions is a convenience store next to Manor, they have grab-and-go options. The offerings looked pretty plain, basically a ham and cheese sandwich, "Asian" style noodles (pretty wet looking), opted for the best worst option, Chicken Caesar Salad. It was chopped romaine, croutons, and about 4 oz. sliced, cold, grilled chicken breast, sprinkling of shredded Parmesan, and a packet of Ken's Caesar dressing. It was actually better than expected, the romaine was fresh and crisp, the chicken breast, surprisingly, not too dry. The complaint? It was friggin' $16. $16! For a convenience store salad. I wish I had a picture of my reaction when the cashier rang up my purchase. Not having had any food yet for at least 5 hours and know there wouldn't be a chance to get any for another 6, opted to pay the king's ransom. If I were you, I would plan ahead, better than I did and maybe walk up to the Publix up the road if you have the time.
