However, it is important to note that they work long, hard hours to do their best to meet the needs of their precious patients well into the night and weekends. The waiting area is small and can get quite busy, but rest assure, you will receive the undivided one on one care you seek when it comes to treating your pet.

When he had a flare six months ago, Dr Alley increased both of those medications to dangerous levels, causing him to have bad reactions. His immune system was so compromised that he could not fight off an upper respiratory infection, and when I took him to another vet, his bloodwork showed extreme bodily stress, anemia, high white cell count, and high glucose, all indicating Prednisolone overdose. Grayson passed away yesterday. When I called them this morning to tell them that I wanted all of my pets' records transferred to my new vet, because I can no longer trust Dr. Alley, I was told that they will never see any of my pets in the future, even in an emergency. A caring vet would have expressed some sympathy, and at the very least would have asked what happened. I am grieving over the passing of a member of my family, my cat. Be forewarned if you go to Donaldson Animal Hospital, this is the attitude that they have. The original vet, Dr. Donaldson was an excellent vet, and would never have let this happen.

It was incredibly easy to get an appointment. It was evident from our first meeting that Dr. Heller is incredibly knowledgeable about ferrets. Her assistants seems to mostly all have ferrets, and it is very helpful to hear about their different experiences with various medications or treatments we consider. She is also willing to and able to handle our boy for glucose testing, which has been impossible or extremely tricky at our previous vet. Borderbrook is also reasonably priced compared to other ferret vets and has evening hours, which is excellent for working individuals. We have only been here three times so far, but we will more than likely be lifetime patients as long as we have ferrets and stay in the area. It is worth the extra 30 minute drive for us!
