I've been using 4 Paws for over a decade now. All my rescues pictured lived long wonderful lives getting the very best care from Dr. Tara Yorty and her team. My furbabies mean the world to me as I'm sure yours do. When I read reviews complaining about waiting because of an emergency, etc. I'd like to mention this is one of the things you appreciate as the owner of the pet having the emergency and receiving the care. None of us look forward to that heartbreaking day our pets leave our lives. When we unexpectedly to them show up at 4 Paws door step. Thank goodness I've found a vet with a team that has compassion and truly love animals. I can't imagine trusting anyone else as much with my precious companions. We absolutely love Dr Yorty and her staff. They are always so kind and truly care about my fur baby. We called upon arrival and they took us right into a treatment room. We had to wait a little while as they had a pet owner with an emergency. We didn't mind waiting as some day I could be that same pet owner with a sick pet. I had an appointment for a checkup for my cat. I was left waiting for the Vet to come in and she never came. I took the cat and left. I didn't see anyone when I walked out the front door. They didn't even know I left! I called and hour later and they told me the Vet had a phone call. People have no respect for other people and their valuable time. The Vet should have called me with an apology not the receptionist it wasn't her fault. The receptionist was very sweet. read more

The staff at 4 paws is amazing! They always try their best to fit me in ASAP and are extremely accommodating. My dog Quake is terrified of strangers and they handled her beautifully. They are kind, helpful, and ridiculously patient. I have moved around a lot and seen many different vets and the staff at 4 paws is by far the best I have ever worked with. I was not satisfied first time with them. Not no choice, but do go back for an emergency. Doctor rolled her eyes at my son and I when we walked into room. Never acknowledged us. Luckily another vet, 5 Points, saved our dogs life. They are now our vet. read more

First appointment , sat in exam room for an hour. Said they had an emergency. Could not stay any longer, I left. Made another appointment for two days later. They left me in examination room 45 minutes. No Doctor. I walked out for the last time. They seem not to know what an appointment is or do not care. When you bring a house cat out to a vets office, maybe the fourth time out of the house at all. It is very traumatic for the animal. Don't know if they are aware of that. We have been taking our dog here for the past 2 1/2 years. They are wonderful. Making appts with the doctor is quick and easy. The secretary is very sweet and always welcomes us with a friendly greeting. The techs are some of the best! They are so good with our overly excited pup when we get back to our room. Dr. Yorty is our dogs provider and I couldn't imagine trusting anyone else with him. She is very informative and intelligent. I will add that she can be condescending when discussing certain issues/concerns/advice, but I would rather that than have a veterinarian that doesnt know what they are doing or doesnt listen to concerns. I would not say that wait times have been consistently long, there are times we have waited long and there are times we have went straight back to the room upon checking in. Overall, I would recommend Dr. Yorty and her staff. read more

I took my puppy there. She had a terrible reaction to a vaccine and needed immediate, life-saving measures. The vet tech cut my pup's leg (a deep and serious cut) and came out and told me (I assumed the vet knew what was going on, too). I was in such shock and fear about almost losing my baby and with everything that was going on, I just wanted to get my puppy home. When the office called the next day to ask how my pup was doing, I told them how concerned I was about the very, deep cut on my dog's leg and their response was "what cut?" I didn't know the vet wasn't aware of this!! They asked me to bring my dog in immediately and when the vet saw the gash on my dog's leg, she wanted to perform EMERGENCY SURGERY to close the wound! I refused since my pup had just been through an ordeal with the vaccine. My poor pup had to be treated, for weeks, with laser treatments, antibiotics, wear a cone and ointments to get the gash to heal on its own. Turns out the tech cut my poor pup's leg WITH SCISSORS when removing tape from her IV; which had to be excruciating for my dog. I demanded some type of reprimand....not sure if that ever happened. My dog now has a permanent scar where the cut once was and we go to a different vet. read more

Dr. Yorty and her staff are wonderful. Very knowledgeble, very caring. Penn Township really needed a vet and was lucky 4 Paws Veterinary Care decided to open in Harrison City. When you are there, the entire staff makes you feel like your pet is their only patient. I would highly recommend. read more

My family moved to the area and decided for convenience we would choose a new vet for our animals. Upon the first visit, I was not impressed with the front office staff as they seemed as if my questions and even being there for an appointment were a bother. The woman did not smile or even greet me or say goodbye upon leaving. The vet on this occasion was friendly and so was the tech so we decided to continue as clients. We had to schedule a follow up sooner with one of our animals and we called to discuss an appointment and being seen same day for a concern and were told to take our animal to AVETS as their entire day was booked solid. We called our previous vet who said please come in and he got us in his full schedule that morning and questioned the care provided and course of treatment by 4 paws. With treating an animal for an illness or injury I expect continuity of care and never to be told to go elsewhere when all we required was a 25 minute visit. Another concern I have is the vet continuously has to "consult" specialists and you see this charged in the amount of 90.00 on your bill- which I have never had occur with previous vets. Another customer mentioned this as well we have spoken to. Between the very poor customer service, consult charges and other irrelevant unneeded fees, lack of coordination between staff, and then being told to take our animal elsewhere when in need, we have decided to drive the hour to our previous vet and discontinue being a client at 4 paws. read more

I've taken my German Shepherd here since he was a pup. He is now 3 and a half. Staff is very friendly. But the wait time is ridiculous. My last appointment was for 11am we got there about 10:50. No one else in waiting room. Got put back in room around 11 or 11:05. Waited till about 11:40 for Dr. She felt dog was nervous. At this point anyone would be. Gave him extremely brief check, couple shots, and then said needed to take blood. Attempted back legg and thought he started to snarl a bit. Put on a muzzle so tight it was probably painful. He really wanted it off. I did get him calm with head in my lap. Total access to his back legg. She must of stuck him 10 times trying to get blood with no success. I said try the front legg. She wanted more people in the room to hold him down. At this point I said we're done here! If your a vet and that terrified of dogs ur in the wrong position. And making a dog wait in a small room for 40 mins is always going to make them a bit nervous. read more
