The good: the truck did not break down and made the 200 mile round trip…read more The bad: truck A/C only worked below about 40 miles per hour. At highway speed (for about 180 of the 200 mile trip) the A/C worked maybe 10% of the time in 85+ degree weather. Driving into the sun towards the end of the day. The ugly: Booked labor to unload truck thru uhaul website. The labor crew to unload the truck never showed up (they did call to say that had been double booked). They showed up the next day (so incurred a 2nd day of truck rental). The app to use times out when uploading photos (multiple times). And prevented me from recording damage to the truck (but I have time stamped photos and video of the damage of the truck, taken with a cell phone camera and cellphone flashlight). The above is uhaul corporate issue Below is the specific Uhaul facility issue. Checking out the truck, in the dark, because the facility parks trucks with minimal lighting, shoulder width apart and backed up to a dirt berm makes it difficult. Tried to use app to take self photo and of drivers license - app from link timed out constantly. Clerk had to take photos. First truck was stuck between other trucks - they found another truck. Checkout of truck was done in the dark. No lights - difficult to checkout using cell phone camera (to see and document damage that existed to truck). Tried to use app to report status of truck, it timed out while uploading photos of damage. Tried to use link again, said link had expired and to call 800 number. Was told by 800 number screener it would take 15-30 minutes to get someone to discuss app issue. Gave up - had purchased the insurance so that should take care of any damage. While driving the truck, 200 miles round trip during the day - the A/C did not work consistently. maybe 90% of the time NO air flow. Was told today when checking in the truck, that "air conditioning is a luxury" even though Uhaul website says trucks have air conditioning and that it doesn't say "it is a luxury". Try driving 200 miles in 86 degree temperatures. Also contracted thru uhaul for laborers to unload the truck - they had overbooked and never showed up. Had to keep the truck for a second day until they showed up today. Uhaul counter representative said AC was a luxury - not guaranteed. Uhaul counter representative said that the labor company was a 3rd party company (true) and the 2nd day wasn't their (uhauls) fault. True, but there is some culpability by uhaul for their contract company. I mentioned to the counter lady that she was the "face" of Uhaul from the customers perspective - and she didn't really seem to be concerned with either the AC, the dark/night time checkout or the labor issues causing a 2nd day of truck charges. (she did apologize for it though). What uhaul web site says about 15 foot truck: What are the features of a 15' truck? Large, roomy cab with seating for 3 adults Air conditioning Automatic transmission Air bags AM/FM radio Disc brakes Above doesn't mention that A/C is a "luxury" - so maybe FALSE advertising? Would I use uhaul again? I would probably check out other companies first. I am so glad I didn't have this issue 5 years ago when my son moved 1500 miles - we were going to rent a 15 foot truck (to pull his car) but decided not to. Driving across mid west at the start of summer with no AC would have been...not good. The truck happened to be registered in Arizona - and the temperatures today there were over 100 degrees. I would say if someone had that truck in AZ today they would not have considered it a "luxury"! This is describing what the labor portion from the uhaul website. while it does mention a 3rd party company, they are ON THE UHAUL website and I would be willing to be that Uhaul corporate gets a commission from every booking thru the website from the labor company. Uhaul is the "face to the customer" for that transaction! Moving Help® is an online marketplace that connects you to local, affordable moving companies. if my experience here this morning is any indication the employees are lazy, liars. I came here…read morefor a quick fill up on a propane tank. I show up and ring the bell. the person I drive there with goes into the store to buy bungee cord and tells them that I'm at the propane tank waiting. Several other people show up (I watch them drive up and enter the store) after the person I'm with was in line and told the liar UHaul employee I was waiting and instead of coming out and filling the tank before helping people that haven't been waiting for 20 minutes the lazy employee decides to stay inside and help people that haven't waited almost half an hour. so I ring the bell again, several times, because obviously Mr. Lazy Liar hasn't heard it. He finally comes out yelling "I don't need you ringing the damn bell over and over." well, obviously you do because you didn't hear it almost half an hour ago...or you just chose to ignore it. you want to come out yelling at me because you're too lazy to do your job, I'll yell back and let you know that I've been waiting here for almost half an hour, that I've seen people come and go while I've been waiting. this is where he just starts lying. he says no they were here before you. and I ask if the guy in the green shirt that bought something (the person that come with me) was there before me and why he was helped before me when I know I pushed the button before he walked in the store, the lazy lying employee said he was there way before me...the person that I drove there, that had to walk across the parking lot AFTER I hit the bell...was there way before me. and then he said writing a contract took a long time. I'm sure it does...but the person I drove there that just bought something didn't have a contract. maybe the people that you helped before me that got there 10 minutes after I was waiting had a contract...in fact I know they did because despite their showing up 10 minutes after I rang the bell for a 2 minute propane fill up, I watched them drive a truck away. so after I catch him in the lie and say oh...I got here way after him and point to the guy that he checked out and he realizes that I know he's completely full of crap, he threatens to refuse service. you lie and get caught being a lazy liar and you're answer is to refuse to do your job even further. pathetic. I won't be returning to this location because it's quite obvious they're lazy and they lie and that's not good for any business.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO THIS LOCATION…read more If I can help just 1 other person to never go to this location, or to direct their business elsewhere other than UHaul, this review will have been worth it. I called about 3 weeks ago to have a hitch installed for a bike carrier. The woman who I spoke with said that they don't carry them in stock and to order through the website. So I did (res#20286308). I showed up at my 7am appt this morning (about 2 weeks after the order was placed) for the scheduled installation, and a VERY rude woman who may be the manager said "We don't have that in stock, and tried calling you." BULLSHIT. There was no phone call or voicemail received on my phone. She flat out lied. And then when I expressed some frustration, she told me (A) that ordering online doesn't guarantee that their store will support the order, and (B) for me to calm down. When I put my phone on the counter to show her there was no phone call, she refused to look, and accused me of being aggressive. I was frustrated, not aggressive - believe me. Rather than listen to my frustrations, she repeatedly cut me off with a "Sir calm down", and offered no help for my situation. I have lodged a complaint with UHaul corporate (which I don't expect any sort of remediation to occur), and I will find another company who will support my business in a professional manner, and will keep their commitments made, or at the very least, attempt to make reparations for their F-ups. I'm sorry, but this U-Haul location deserves no stars at all! La Niña, the general manager almost…read moreput me in tears as she humiliated me in front of all the other customers. I had rented a truck that was so bad that the front driver seat felt like it was leaniy towards the drivers door. When I went down the street, I felt like I had to hold tightly to keep the truck under control. The truck also did not like an incline in the road as it struggled. I picked up my couch which was in the thrift shop down the street and while I was trying to head towards the highway call mom I was too scared to get on it and I turned around to bring back the truck. This all happened in less than an hour. By the time I picked up the truck and brought it back when I came back I told your general manager that the truck was no good and I was afraid for my life driving it. She said in a very, very loud voice. "There's nothing wrong with that car there's nothing wrong with that car!" when I tried to explain what was wrong with it in between her yelling mad at me, she said, "well what kind of car do YOU drive? I am a mechanic are YOU a mechanic?" I have never been treated this rudely and any U-Haul location I have ever visited. My best advice to you as an owner is to replace this general manager as she's turning away a lot of customers she has absolutely no customer service skills.
