He is flexible with your vision and can make anything a reality. A dull room can be amazingly beautiful with his knowledge of lighting. Accents on centerpieces can really bring all the decorations in the room together. At my wedding reception (and my sister's a year before), Amit played music until the very last moment. People would not leave the dance floor, so the music kept going. Even when the lights came on, the music kept going!!! The best thing is that Amit really loves his job and you can see it in his conversations and his end product. I hired 3D Sounds for my wedding earlier this year and they did an alright job overall but there were certainly some hiccups that I think they can improve on. To start they were responsive throughout but I was never certain of who my DJ was until the day before the wedding and that too I had to call and ask Amit K for. Regardless, I sent them an excel spreadsheet detailing what to play when, along with the special tracks so that there were no mistakes or confusion. Our DJ was able to follow that 100% and we had no issues there whatsoever. As for the hiccups, one of the primary mistakes was that they forgot or did not have a clip-on mic for the ceremony officiant. When I asked about it during the wedding the DJ said it was not on my contract but at 2nd glance it was on there and they did admit to the mistake and provide compensation but money can't fix these kinds of mistakes and I was surprised they don't carry back up mic's in the first place. (The officiant ended up using a handheld mic and performing the religious rituals with one hand..) 2nd thing was the mobile baraat system is not very loud. 3D Sounds did not place any claims about it being very loud so I can't blame them but I thought it'd be important to note this for anybody reading. Be sure to give it a listen before you decide on using it. Lastly, 3D sounds DJ's do try to pump up the crowd by using vocal messages over the mic but for me that felt a bit much and I didn't know the extent of it until I watched my wedding videos a little later. This may be something you want to discuss with them if you don't want the DJ interjecting things like "Cmon folks, make some noise!" during dance performances... Other than that, the lighting, setup and reception dance music was fantastic. read more

This review may sound loud, but in reality it's a very clear and sharp representation on how everything sounded! First let's start with the booking. My wife and I worked with Amit, via conference calls and phone calls. He was very responsive (unlike some other DJ's we reached out to). The guy was literally on his honeymoon, responding to our emails and answering questions. Amit was not only extremely knowledgeable about all of his services, but also about our venue (down to specific little details). That's the pro of working with 3D. They've literally DJ'ed everywhere, and they know their stuff! We ended up contracting with 3D sounds the following services for our multi-day Indian wedding: DJ, Dhol (baraat), Lighting, & Dance Floor. Everything looked amazing, from the color changing uplights, to the seamless dancefloor with our logo emblazoned on it. Next I want to talk about our DJ's. Rohan and Rishal were absolute studs. I've always said that you need 3 things to make a wedding a success - great food, open bar, and awesome music that just doesn't stop. You guys were on point every day! We just gave them some general songs we liked, and they took it from there, reading the crowd and reacting instantaneously to keep the party going. Let's not forget Rishal and his seductive voice. One of the benefits of booking with 3D sounds, is that you get two DJ's. That means if you want, like we did, you can have one of them MC also. Rishal not only was a great MC, but cracked some jokes to keep the audience entertained (he even came up with another hashtag for our wedding #havefun). And Rohan with the dhol, spitting out beats straight out of a Ludacris music video, killed it at my baraat. 3D Sounds did an amazing job at my brother and sister-in-law's baby shower! Rohan (DJ Kenya) had everything set up before the event started and was ready to go. His attention to detail was on point even when we didn't think to ask for something, he was two steps ahead. He even stepped up as an impromptu MC when the situation called for it. His presentation was impeccable. There were dances and he had it all timed perfectly. Even with the baby shower games, during a round of Jeopardy he made sure to play the Jeopardy music to further hype up the crowed playing the game. The dance floor was jam packed during the dancing portion and everyone was having a blast. In addition, when asked for last minute music, there was no hesitation and the request was filled. Rohan is an attentive DJ and treated the event as if it were his own. Before getting into the details, let me just say that hiring 3D Sounds was the best and easiest decision we made. We were introduced to Amit and the 3D Sounds team through our event planners (Neha Shah and Amanda Mendez at Blue Lotus Insights who are Phenomenal!!) and we could not be more thankful. My wife and I got married in the Bay Area, and we were planning the wedding from the East Coast, so almost all of our vendor meetings were done over the phone. Our call with Amit was just the best. Within minutes we were talking about music styles, where we grew up, etc and it felt like friends catching up. My wife is Telugu and I am Gujurati, so our wedding ceremony had elements of both cultures. I thought this would have been tough, but it was clear Amit knew what he was talking about. He knew all of the important stages of the ceremony for both sides and specific music that needs to be played at different times (my wife and I didn't even know some of the stuff). Furthermore, he was so easy to work with. He responds promptly and was always willing to make changes and adjustments to fit our needs. So the Music - I have had so many friends, cousins, aunties and uncles comment on how awesome the music was. At each event, especially the reception, every song was played perfectly at the right time. The dancefloor never emptied, and the set was a perfect blend of Indian and non-Indian music. I will also add that Amit came through with the dhol towards the end of the reception and the crowd went wild! The baraat was so much fun, we ended up extending and going longer on time. The Lighting - My wife and I feared that our venue was too business-like. But Amit and our decorators transformed the room into something we could not even have imagined. Everything was done so well. Lastly - I appreciated the level of professionalism as well as genuine care in making our wedding weekend fantastic. In the year leading up to your wedding, it really makes a difference when you choose vendors who make the process easier and actually fun. We had vendors on both spectrums, but Amit and the 3D Sounds team actually made this daunting task easier and we looked forward to our phone calls with Amit and picking music, etc. I was so excited to finally meet him for the first time during our Sangeet! The worst customer service. I met Amit at a food tasting for my wedding venue and agreed to book him as my vendor for lighting. Amit never answered or responded to call, text or emails except for once. When I finally got a hold of him he gave me a quote and agreed to send me the contract via email. As the groom, the first two important decisions I cared to make was the venue and the DJ. Music is critical to my family and keeping a vibe that is fun, energetic and upbeat is the utmost importance. I've met Amit Kotecha on past occasions and his sincerity and acumen were always impressive. He was the first call I made to book a DJ and, honestly, he was my only call. Amit walked us through the entire process and provided a great quote that included DJ, dholi and lighting. I informed him that I might choose another Dholi and that the venue already had lighting. He said, "Not a problem." He offered to walk the venue with us and reviewed the lighting to ensure it work best based on our design choices. Once he saw that it could, he quickly removed the pricing for lighting and dholi without hesitation. He truly builds trusted relationships. As far as the day of, our DJ was Rohan Dosaj. Man was he fantastic. I gave him a list of less than 20 songs that are my wife's and my favorite. I was worried that the list of songs might not be enough for him to get our taste and play over 8+ hours of music. Boy was I wrong. He not only nailed our taste in music but also managed the crowd's personality. A Punjabi-guju family wedding with mixture of young and old people did not leave the dance floor for hours. 3D Sounds did an amazing job at our wedding this past April! Amit initially worked with us to get us started and then Atul and Rishal took over.... picking your DJ/MC for a day like your wedding is a big decision! I knew I'd be nervous from the start but because these guys were so organized and quick in responding to any questions/concerns we had, I soon realized that I had nothing to worry about. I had emailed them all of our entrance songs and songs for choreographed dances, and included a timeline of when to play which one. I let them know what kind of music we wanted them to play on the dance floor and I also sent them a list of specific songs we wanted to hear. They did an excellent job of playing exactly what we wanted! They also put together 2 different slideshows that played in the background during the reception. They made sure to have me preview the slideshow beforehand to see if I wanted to make any changes. I should mention that on the day of, both Atul and Rishal were the ones present and running the entire day as DJs and part MC. These guys were awesome! In addition to playing great music (for the baraat, wedding ceremony, and reception), they did some of the MC-ing and most importantly, they just knew how to keep the energy level high.
