The showroom is gigantic and offers choices for a variety of tastes...I lean mid-century modern, my mom leans traditional, but we both have pieces that we love that were purchased from Suburban. The common trait that runs throughout the showroom is quality. American made pieces, Italian pieces, far out wild colorful pieces, affordable pieces...something for everyone. I've moved around a bit and several times have used Suburban's furniture delivery service with great results. They offer delivery to the entire state of OK and contiguous states. Suburban frequently holds holiday and red tag sales at up to 50% off. I appreciate having a place where I can talk face to face to salesperson I trust and leave knowing I got a square deal. As a testament to the quality of products and service that I've received at Suburban, they are my first stop anytime I need a new piece of furniture. Thanks to this cool shop, I've now got more duck decoys but this on is mounted atop a giant box. Then I bought a giant (painted to look old) blue star - ok, I see it as a Texas star - sorry Oklahoma. Love this place & I'll be back to see their original and repurposed antique - modern and mid-century treasures for my town and country homes. I hung out with Mike for a while yesterday, learning more about his great little shop in the Plaza…read moredistrict. I love that this is never the same store twice, because Mike is out searching for pieces almost as many hours per week as the store is open. Specializing in mid-century furniture and kitchenware, you'll also find lots of cool ashtrays, paintings, lamps, and home decor items. He also finds a lot of classic stereo cabinet, which can still be used. We ended up purchasing two side tables. They were in great shape, and have a lot more character than anything we would have found down on furniture row. We also got a cool old pull-down, schoolhouse-style map of South America. Since Mr K lived in Paraguay and I lived in Brasil, I think that's a cool addition to the study. I'm a fan. I'm sure this is the first of many things I'll be purchasing from Mike over the years. He posts photos to their facebook page as he makes new finds, and he will also offer to stay on the lookout for something he knows you're looking for. I can't wait to see what he finds next! Note: If you're there during business hours and the shop is not open for some reason, please call the number on the sign. He may be at an estate sale or at a private in-home appointment, but if you're there and he's not, just give him a call and he'll be back. He really does work hard to be there during regular hours. If he's not, it's a fluke.
