Housed inside the 'legendary' Parr Street recording studios. 3345 Parr Street is seemingly an elegant and exclusive private members bar for creative types. Which may explain why - when I went in there last night - it was full of people dressed up as Superheroes cutting some serious rug to 70s disco hits on its dancefloor. Yet, somehow, after a few beers this only appeared to add to its charm.
It's difficult to know what 3345 Parr Street is really. Its mid 90s backstreet style bar decor makes it look slightly dated, yet it's anything but soulless. Indeed, everyone there appeared to be full of life and determined to have a cracking night out - creating an electric, fun-filled atmosphere which you couldn't fail to pick up on and become a part of. I spent a very nice evening there last night drinking cocktails from their extensive, yet surprisingly inexpensive cocktail menu with friends, gosipping and giggling and losing track of time in the way that you do when you're having a really good night out.
All in all, this is one of Parr Street's best kept secrets - I know I certainly wouldn't have found it on my own if I hadn't been taken there by a friend. I'll certainly be returning - if only to show people the fact that the ladies toilets appears to contain two cisterns in the same cubicle - a great little innovation, which means you can chat to your mate whilst having a whizz.
