Loren was able to work with our special requests. He also helped mic up our guitarist during the ceremony, so his guitar and voice was clearly heard during the ceremony. When it came to our First Dance and special dances, Loren played exactly what we requested, and his dancefloor lighting was very cool and just added to the mood. I'll always remember that. As someone who loves traveling around the world and learn other cultures, this place literally is right up my alley. The space is bigger than I imagined from the entrance. It has exhibits from countries around the world, and it is so interesting. Traditional clothes, artworks, etc all kinds of artifacts in one place. I learned that they host cultural events throughout the year and I'll come back.

Sexy photography…read more That's how I describe Cate's style when telling others to give her a call. I literally used those words yesterday when I told an alcohol distributor to holler her way. Flames, knives cutting meat, laughter, beer, centerpieces, bathrooms, bluegrass - you name it and Cate can make it look 50% sexy and 50% mysterious and I can't get enough of her images! (give her a follow on Instagram). In addition to meat and flame photos, you can holler at Cate for stunning wedding and engagement images. Last but not least, she is super easy to work with - I'm often concerned that I don't provide enough direction or details (one of my weaknesses) but Cate runs with it and makes the magic happen every time.

Not only is she incredibly talented at what she does, but she has a unique stylistic eye that other photographers don't have. While her main focus is engagement shoots and weddings, she's taken professional headshots for me in color and b&w as well as photographed my sorority's formal. On both occasions, I got my images back quickly, but they were not done hastily. I got so many compliments on my headshots from friends and family, and all my sorority sisters loved the photos of them and their dates. She's great at capturing candid moments on the dance floor, as well! If I were in the market for engagement or wedding photos, there is no doubt in my mind I would pick Cate (get it? Cate "Pick"ens? It's easy to see why this would be a wedding venue. Not sure it's the greatest location for a Candlelight Concert. The other attendees kept getting up during the show and because the building is older, you could hear every creak in the floor as they walked. I did think the size of the room was perfect for this type of show. Street parking was easy right outside and I appreciated that as well.

The instructors lead everyone in a group warm up first and then we were split into groups to take turns with the apparatuses. I felt more naturally inclined with the silks and got to try out some beginners tricks! The pole fitness was a little harder for me but still a fun challenge. The instructors for both halves were helpful and encouraging. They have a variety of class rates (as low as $15/class) and a wide schedule of classes between this location and their new studio in Fountain Square. I'd definitely try a full silks class again!
