Two standout features: 1) E-mail appointment reminders, with links that allow you to very easily book your next visit online. It literally took 15 seconds to schedule a time that worked for me. 2) A free 30-day pet insurance trial, plus personalized advice from the vet re: her provider of choice and why. Really important info that can save $$$ on vet bills long term. Our vet wasn't the snuggliest person on earth - she was somewhat matter-of-fact - but was very thorough, gentle and otherwise pleasant. Our kitten had a series of vaccinations that day and, due to the steady hand and calm nature of the vet, she got through it without protest. Can't complain. The front desk staff, as previously mentioned, are incredibly nice and obviously love animals, which creates a very friendly atmosphere from the minute you walk in the door. Overall, highly recommended for routine checkups, vaccinations, advice and good-quality pet supplies.

If you do need to come here, make sure you bring your credit card, and be prepared to pay. Usually they take a $500 part payment before they will even do an initial consultation. On the 2 occasions I went here it was to take two sick kittens. Both needed to be put down, but only after they had tried to rehydrate them, both occasions ended up costing $1000 plus. However, my parents have used AE when their cat ripped out her stitches after desexing and pulled out all her intestines. Their bill was in excess of $1500, but the cat survived and is going strong. The fact is in the position, most people will opt for this type of service rather than watch their animals suffer.

I bought medication for my cat straight after the consultation and paid $45 for a 3ml Meloxicam; I thought that was expensive but didn't think I was going to be ripped off by them, so I paid what they asked. Once home I decided to check the price online and found a couple of places selling the exact same medication for $9., so over 400% more expensive. I wish someone had advised me. Apart from that, Vets seem to be good and the staff is friendly.

The reception staff are so super friendly and are happy to answer any questions new anxious fur-parents may have about their fur-child. The vets are really lovely and were so gentle with my little baby. Dr Ross, who we saw on the second visit for Willis' final vaccinations was particularly awesome. He gave us great advice as new fur-parents and was really reassuring and calming. Willis didn't even yelp, cry or bark once and he got a needle and a nasal vaccination! Amazing. This vet also offers a free, yes FREE, puppy school on Wednesday evenings. We haven't been yet as it was closed over the xmas period, but will be taking Willis next week when it starts up again! So glad this is our local vet! Highly recommend it for all pet owners of Richmond!

I recently saw Alice who I am so grateful to because she diagnosed the funny lump on my dog as being cancerous and was able to book her in for surgery the next day to remove it. Bella is now cancer free and happy her stitches are out! I was a bit emotional about it all and Alice and the nurses were so sweet and helpful especially in their after care advice. I don't often post reviews but I feel like I hit the jackpot when it comes to the care of my lab, my cat, and Craig has even seen my bearded dragon Albert when he was looking flat. ‼ ZERO STARS - Gross negligence and failure of duty of care…read more They let my beloved girl die from untreated sepsis ‼ I brought my diabetic girl to Advance Vet Kensington. She was already collapsed on arrival, with a swollen, painful forelimb, obvious distress, and systemic illness. An x-ray revealed gas and fluid in the limb - a textbook red flag for necrotising infection and sepsis. A blood gas test also confirmed she was critically unwell. Despite this, the night staff did nothing. She was never diagnosed. She was given only methadone for pain relief and anti-nausea. No shock-rate fluids were administered, no antibiotics, oxygen or insulin were given, and no stabilisation was attempted. I was told to wait until 8 am, or even midday, for a surgeon. This advice, to delay urgent treatment in a collapsed, septic, diabetic patient was grossly negligent and unforgivable. Their dismissive and demeaning conduct made it worse: I had rung in advance and arrived calm and clear about her condition, yet I was treated as though I had woken them up from sleep with an inconvenience rather than a medical emergency. When the morning shift arrived at 7am, they finally recognised how severe the situation was. At that point, I was asked to approve and sign for $15,000 in hospitalisation fees before any treatment plan was commenced. I have never once put a price on my dog's health, but to withhold urgent, life-saving care until a financial signature was obtained added another layer of negligence. Emergency measures were then attempted, but the sepsis had already advanced too far. In fact, the first antibiotic was not administered until after her heart had stopped, during CPR. Her death was preventable. The staff failed to act on clear diagnostic evidence, failed to treat her as an emergency, and failed to treat me with even the most basic respect. Their negligence, inaction, and attitude directly caused a preventable death. To add insult to injury, I was charged $4,000 for six hours of neglect.

We advised we'd need her (the cat) to board there for over a month which was no problem. The staff are for the most part trained with veterinary science degrees and know a lot about cats. The fee is $20 a day and they will be fed, played with and every thing they will need. I think you pay slightly more if they need daily medication. The staff are happy for us to pick her up whenever we liked with a days notice or extend that time - however, holiday season gets booked UP so don't expect to keep your cat the for more than two weeks over the holiday season. My only, ONLY qualm is one of the girls who works there. When arriving and filling out our paperwork, we were blown away with how sarcastic she was being to us, and when I made the mistake of following the wrong girl back to the counter, I got "EXCUSE me!" She was so mean, abrupt and intimidating that my boyfriend and I were both scared of her and prayed that upon our return to pick up or cat, she wouldn't be working. She wasn't and we had a great experience picking up our girl and talking to the staff about her stay. When we were about to depart, she arrived for world. Arg! We tool this as our cue to leave.
