AVOID, AVOID, AVOID at all costs…read more I could write a novel about how horrible our experience with this company was. I'll highlight a few things but the list goes on, and on, and on, and on. If you dont' read past this point, here is my one liner review. If you're a construction expert, save yourself the time and money and general it yourself, and if you aren't an expert, stay as far away from this company as possible. Original estimate of the job was 180-250k. We have now spent ~400k with them. We were conned into signing the contract with the promise of keeping it below $300k (our fault, we were naive and trusted them) and signed the contracts anyway. Original timeline (while never documented anywhere) was estimated at 4-5 months. After 7 months we moved back in without construction complete. Work was finally completed in late April (10 months later). 4 project managers in a span of 4 months. They fired the one that conned us into the signing the contract, but did nothing to clean up the mess. Instead threw a brand new person on the job on his second day with the company. Then the owner took over when that person went on medical leave (never communicated to us). We thought this was going to be the turning point since the owner of a small construction company was finally taking some ownership. We never saw him on the jobsite while he was the PM. Then a foreman was "promoted" to PM 3 weeks later but that was never communicated to us. A list of issues a mile long exists, but the noteable "misses" are below. All were fixed but only AFTER we uncovered them and brought them up. -4" of blow in insulation, code is 15-19" -airflow baffles weren't installed for attic proper ventilation -nearly sided an entire side of our house incorrectly -drywalled over multiple outlets and return air ducts -carpeted over a vent If you are still reading and are still considering this company, reach out to me for more details. I'd be happy to provide you with any additional information to help you make a more informed decision.

We hired VHS to replace our downstairs flooring and tile a small bathroom floor to ceiling. It was…read moresuppose to take about 3 days and it took about 2 weeks. The overall job was good but we had some issues. After they laid the floor my two front doors would not open because the floor was too high. They had to end up taking the doors out and redo the trim and then put them back in. The guys dented my frig when they used a furniture mover to pull it out and scratched the floor. The piece that they glued to the step and transition strip had to be reglued. The supervisor that came out was great and fixed everything. The end project was ok but it was really stressful. I think the guys were all subcontractors. I would probable not use them except for carpet.

A little over a year ago we did a partial kitchen remodel. Replaced a 2 tier counter with a flat…read morebreakfast bar, replaced our backsplash, added some lighting and tiled an accent wall. This required demoing the 2 tier structure and some plumbing reconfiguration. The crews were always on time and cleaned up each day. The only slight issue was with the tiler not doing a good job around the outlets. They fixed that the next day. The electrician actually suggested a better lighting solution and convert all the other recessed lights to LED, for a very reasonable charge. we also had some decorative wood under the breakfast bar that had to be removed. I had planned to reinstall it, but they did it for me at no extra charge and hung 2 floating shelf brackets I'd also planned to install myself. We are very happy with the result and would recommend them.
