The G Spot (G is the…read morefirst initial of the owners name) It was time again for a haircut, I decided to treat myself to a salon instead of the regular Clip joints I usually run into. I ordered up a mani and pedi to go along with my haircut. What a WONDERFUL establishment!!! Not what I expected at ALL! So clean, modern and Spa like! It offers all sorts of beauty treatments! I had a regular mani and pedi combo which is a booked for 1hr 45 mins. Very very thorough! She really worked the nail beds with that tool thingy removing all that dead nail bed tissue from the nail on your hands and feet, Unlike most nail places that only lightly pass over. First time in a long time that I didn't go home and redo my locks! Though my hair is short, I had been trying to grow it out! We all know how that goes...lol I ended up with a cute sassy funky cut....I'm no young chicken, however I didn't want that same old dated look. Heck this is 2020! This year I'm going to start treating myself with some pampering! At least once a month I'm going to do something spa-like. Before I retired I treated myself all the time. They do something I've been waiting to try for a long time, and that is "Yoni" Steaming! They have a whole room dedicated to this....I didn't snap a bunch of photos but I had to take a photo of their nail polish WALL....and that is not even the shellac colors, those are on another wall....! I was just looking for something "Close By" and Google pulled up this establishment. Great service, beautiful place. I've finally found my G-Spot, in G-Town! via (G)oogle! Gee who'd of thought!

I'm very picky over my long raven locks...you must be deft with a pair of scissors and have an imagination that can see what I'm describing. I usually try to bring pictures if I want a different color or style, but hair mags leave much to be desired these days. After a bad trim experience at Ulta over the holidays, I went to my sister's guy in Rocky Mount. I'd been to him once before, many years ago, and he did a fabulous job. He did so again -- great cut and color. And the price is better than Charlotte... Backstage has a new location in Rocky Mount, smaller than the previous spot but fewer chairs and hence more attention to clients. There is some hair product for sale here, though not my usual Kerastase and bumble & bumble. I'll have to get that from somewhere else. Jeff is the owner, and he's very good, so you'll want to schedule an appointment with him at least 2-4 weeks in advance. They are closed on Mondays.

I had mentioned to him a few times that my hair was not satisfactory to my liking. Sometimes I would come home and put the finishing touch to my hair. The consistenty of the way he fix's hair is gone, it's all about the dollars!!!! I don't mind paying for a service but I want what I pay for. After my last appointment on a Friday it was not satisfactory, and I expressed my concern to him. David called me on a Monday and said we need to end our hair relationship and for me to find someone to do my hair. Before I could say anything he hung up the phone on me. I am very hurt by the way I was treated after so many years of being a loyal client and recommending him to other people. Went in for an 11:15 facial with Sharon. She stood in the waiting area talking to a husband and…read morewife until 11:23. When we went into the room, finally, I asked her if I'd still get my full hour. She said "what makes you ask that?" I told her bc she was late (it was now 11:25) and she said "if I'm late, then yes. If you're late, no, bc that's different." Why is my time less valuable than hers? She was weird to me from then, onward. She gave me a neck pillow. I asked if I could remove it, bc I have bad military neck. I could tell she didn't believe me with her "mmhmm". Then after about 15 mins of cleansing and a scrub, she left the room to give me "5 minutes to myself". I've never experienced that and found it weird. She returned and started dermaplaning. She didn't warn me of anything, tell me what she'd be using, or ask if I've ever had it done. When she got near my lip, I felt a sharp pinch like I'd been nicked. My body INVOLUNTARILY jumped. (It's called a reflex.) She raised her voice and snapped at me "MA'AM, DO NOT JUMP, I HAVE A BLADE!" I started to tell her it was a pain response and it felt like she nicked me and she cut me off, not letting me speak. I tried saying the same sentence 4 times. Idk how many times I repeated "PLEASE let me finish my sentence". I started to cry from being overwhelmed by her and sat up. She grabbed my shoulder hard, pulling me back down and said "Stop crying!" I told her I could cry if I wanted to bc I was now very stressed and to please not touch me, and that I needed a minute. She stood up and came over, grabbing my left arm and shoulder harder, and started pulling me back down. I again told her to stop touching me. She said "You know what?! This service is over!! You need to leave!" She made me change in front of her nude, and wouldn't leave the room. I walked out and found the owner, Heather. I explained what happened and her immediate response was "is Sharon ok?" I was like "yeah, but I'm not." (Guessing this happens a lot to customers.) When I told my story, Heather rolled her eyes and Sharon came out fast, interrupting with her story. I said I wanted a refund, bc at this point it had been 31 mins, that she started the service at exactly 11:27, and looking at the clock behind Heather at 12:08, meant I got less than 20 mins of an hour service, unrendered, horribly unprofessional, and unsafe. I asked for a refund and Sharon got in my face and said "oh, you WILL BE PAYING!". I said I would not be and would take legal action if they tried to make me. Heather put her hand in my face and told me to "be quiet!". After a lot of arguing, Heather finally refunded me. I then asked for my card to be taken off file, since we both agreed I would not be coming back. Heather said "No! What would I even do with it?" Girl, based on your abusive reaction, everything! I told her it wasn't legal for her to keep a card on file if I asked for removal. She said "Oh well!" So I started recording her via video. She looked nervous about being recorded, immediately called the police, and I videoed the rest of the exchange from this point, on. She told them I was threatening in her face, while the video shows me 5 ft away, asking her to remove my card from her system. She told them she wanted a restraining order, so I yelled into her phone "I just wanted my card off file, then I'd leave!" She obviously doesn't understand what restraining orders are for and that it's stupid to lie when you're being recorded with video evidence. She got off of the phone, took my card off file and I left. She followed me out, a mere foot behind me, now recording ME. She and Sharon said they'd "pray" for me and to take my "northern a**" back up north". This is exactly the type of Southern stuff everyone hates. Using Jesus/God as a weapon. You're not supposed to pray in vain like that. These are the opposite of Christ-like women. When I told her I was going to leave a review, she said "YOU BETTER NOT!!!" Well, here it is! I know she'll refute this, but the truth is the truth. Not lying is a commandment, ladies.

However, it was unkempt and looked a bit messy. I met my stylist who looked frumpy in her graphic tee and limp hair. But she was nice! (I hate leaving negative reviews). I wanted to change from a shoulder length bob to a shorter inverted bob. She gave me a very quick wash and proceeded to cut my hair. Having been to many high end salons, and gotten this cut before, I expected point cutting and newer techniques. I felt like I was at Great Clips. When I left, I thought the cut looked ok. However, after a wash and style, I realized the sloppiness. Fortunately I found another Aveda salon in Rocky Mount who was able to fix it. Subtle changes but helped everything lie right.
