I highly recommend renting with these sweet people and checking out their renovations! This is the best experience by far that I've had with a venue.

While visiting the base a few months ago, we spent some time at the lake area. The weather was perfect, no humidity, very clean air! They outside is well taken care of, tables and benches and trails that lead to the lake. I'm hoping to spend more time at the lake next year. Its absolutely beautiful place to visit.

But this place is more like a building full of ballrooms for your special occasions. I attended a military dining in that was hosted here, and coincidentally I came across a birthday party in a nearby room with some old friends at the same time. I guess this really is the place to go for your important events! I don't even know how to make a reservation for a room in a place like this, but I do know that I had a good time here. The ballrooms don't look like they're taken from medieval European architecture, but this is a military base, not Cinderella's Castle. There are civilians working here late into the night to take care of your food and alcohol needs, which is nice. The next time I go to another dining in, it'll probably be here again, so I already can't wait!

Easy to get turned around. Despite these issues I've certainly been to worse spots. The staff were actually quite friendly which made up for some of the architectural and design flaws. Leave 30 minutes early if you want to be on time and beware people speeding.

Loads of parking in nearby surrounding buildings. I parked at the Marriot parking lot next door. Walking into the convention center it was easy to navigate the main entrance. Escalators next to stairs allow different ways to get from one floor to the next. And of course there's an elevator. If you have to attend a big event and it's here, don't worry, just go! I say this as a person who has anxiety in large crowds. Happy yelping. SYOY.

So the annual Freaker's Ball was held here last night…read more The ball is open to community members and their guests. Apparently they have held this event for 18 years. The venue feels like one of those old community houses from back in the 1800's. It felt like a giant barn party. It has some standard facilities, a large kitchen, a nice sound stage, lots of tables, and a decent restrooms. Freaker's Ball was definitely a great event.

The fairgrounds are small, but larger than I thought it actually was when I realized there are a lot of buildings onsite. I think the best way to experience this place will be in the summer when the sun is shining and there's an actual fair here. But from what I saw, the facilities are clean, but I don't know what they do about parking because that lot is tiny compared to how many vendors and customers you can service when there's a full event. Now that I know about the fairgrounds, I'll be looking for events that take place in the summer and fall, because in spite of the small parking lot, it looks charming.

You can get wristbands for $30 which you can ride all the rides an unlimited amount of times and includes two games. Or 50cents for each ticket and each ride usually is 10 tickets. It's pretty small and most of the rides are kid friendly. If you're someone who's really into rides, the puyallup fair has the most to offer and I believe the prices are really similar. Parking is also $5. I recommend eating a little before you come or bring your own food because food at fairs can get really expensive.
