I came here with my brother half way through lugging his house into hatchbacks and man did we need…read moresome food. It wasn't very busy and the staff were nice enough. The pub had its stereotypical old-man-in-the-corner, despite the fairly youthful atmosphere- I expect for the students. As Joe Lycett would say, you could tell the walls were only adorned with local artwork. I had the gourmet hotdog, and the brother had a burrito-y thing, where his plate was covered in endless ramakins (I hope that's how you spell it, autocorrect just doesn't know), but he enjoyed it. My hotdog was nice, the bread was a little dry so it was a bit of a pain to eat falling apart all over the place- but I guess this isn't really a problem if you aren't like me insisting on eating burgers and hotdogs with your hands (as was darn well intended!). We were both driving,so we didn't sample the extensive bar- but any students reading this I can break it down into this. -youthful and typically attractive, friendly bar staff - happy hour -cocktail menu -food is spoons-esque in menu format, and I'd say a bit better quality, not oarticukarky ny thing, but there's a good range available -affordable on a student budget -a few weird steps you may want to watch yourself on drunk...

Relatively expensive but the new cocktail menu is good. Try out the Papa Joe! Food is pretty good…read morewith their own individual take on things. Some decent ales on tap which makes a nice change in Loughborough. Service isn't particularly quick but the constant queues in the evening just prove what a popular place this trendy bar is.

What a fantastic Christmas Eve lunch we had today!…read more The set lunch menu was not big BUT there was enough to satisfy the four of us! I ordered Crayfish & Salmon which looked so lovely I didn't want to eat it. My husband's Porcini soup was delicious and presented initially with the garnishes then topped afterwards with the soup from a jug! It was wonderful! Main courses were equally tasty and impressive. I had Hake which was cooked really well and the accompanied vegs all complimented it fabulously! Husband had Beef, son had Lamb, mother in law had Pork all were fantastic. I had a taste of their Yorkshire Pudding which was fantastic too. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

This place is hands down my family's favourite place to go in the area. We especially love the…read morelunch menu which is such great value that even my somewhat tight brother will pay occasionally! The service is always good and the owners are really friendly. Food stand-outs - the parfait is delicious. It comes with walnut bread which is really yummy. The fish and chips is AMAZING - exactly what fish and chips should be: super crispy batter with delicious melt-in-the-mouth fish inside. Love the chunkly chips, especially with mayonnaise. The sea bass is also really good. Finally dessert is yummy too - I particularly like the sponge pudding which they were nice enough to give me with custard and icecream! Seriously go hungry - you will want 3 courses - especially for only 20 quid!
