Stradbroke Island is pleasantly wild, but this means there are not a ton of businesses if you're looking for a meal. A couple of places are on the waterfront, but if you're willing to go looking, you'll find this one all of one block back from a cliff overlooking the Pacific. It's eclectic, as they have some baked goods, sushi, and fresh meals. You can feel the ocean breeze as you sit outside either at a normal table or a row of motorcycles repurposed as bar seats.
They offer a stir fry noodle dish, and you won't want for choices. They have several types of noddles and sauces, they'll put together the numerous vegetables and other ingredients as you like much like a fast casual restaurant, and ordering vegetarian yielded a handy mix of cashews and tofu (and a competent understanding of what a vegetarian would and wouldn't eat and why). The portion was enormous, the dish delicious, and of course, I was forced to pay the expected beach premium at a price of...12 dollars?!
Mind you, it's not haute cuisine, and I'm grading on a curve because of the location, but if you're in the area I would definitely eat here. read more
