She was understanding and non judgmental looking at all my outdated fashion, and helped me see outfit pairings I would never have thought of (navy and gold, who knew?!) and say farewell to things that were tired or ill fitting. That helped us make an agenda for our shopping trip which she carefully timed around big sales, mindful of helping me stay within the budget we'd identify. When I arrived she had a whole rack ready for me to start trying on, and we made swift work of finding a whole new look for me to use day to day. She got special treatment with the store clerks and alterations folks because of a good reputation and they treated me like a queen. Our relationship continues long beyond that first trip -- she checks in on my alterations and offers solid advice on accessories and purchases when I ask. I'm really glad we met and know I'll be recommending her to friends and going to Catherine for a long time.

5 hours, $525 paid and all I have to show for myself is one $200 blouse I'll probably return…read more I have very minimal clothes (less than 100 pieces--only 5 pairs of shoes!) and Catherine spent TWO HOURS going through my closet. She did make one good tip "you have too many sweaters and no blouses" but when she left I felt no better about my clothes or how to put them together than before she came. She didn't put ONE outfit together for me, or for my husband, who has maybe 50 items (3 pairs of shoes). I then went shopping with her for 3 hours. I had expected to buy blouses, since she said I needed those, but we spent an hour on jeans (already have 3 expensive pairs that fit well) and I had to keep nagging and redirecting her to blouses over and over. She even started showing me sweaters at one point -- even after saying I owned too many (8). And despite spending TWO HOURS on my 100 items, she clearly learned nothing about my tastes or preferences. She kept grabbing high collar, super buttoned up shirts (I'm young and free spirited), lots of high wasted "mom" pants. Most of the items were too short in the pants or sleeves (I'm 5'7"), and Catherine would insist that it didn't matter. But why would I pay $200-$400 for something that is too short? (Every item she selected for me was OVER $100.) And when I would put something on and ask her, "what would I wear this with?" she would tell me something that I did not already have or was even in the dressing room. She also kept insisting I needed to buy black black and more black. I don't like black. I live in LA. Most people don't wear black except at night... and how good of a stylist can you be in you just want to dress everyone in all black? Frustrated, I asked to spend the last 30 minutes focused on my husband (she'd made one suggestion for him--he needed "fancy designer sneakers with a rocker pattern" and a grey jacket to complete his wardrobe) and she started picking up all these grey bland booties. I finally waved her off. She was nice, and I think she did try, but I wish I could get a refund. I feel very VERY taken advantage of.

I have sadly, had to give up Fluff products do to the inability of Nicole, shipping and ordering girl, to fill my orders on time and even to address my orders. The reason for this is, she sent me items I didn't order. Rather then making it right for a shipping cost of only $20 she rather bicker back and forth with emails blaming me. Stating I approved an order that I didn't even place. For days back and forth with her. It was a Christmas retailers night mare. Rather then continuing with this unprofessional behavior, I kept the 16 train cases and (still have them) put them out at a low price...without loosing money. When I went to place another order she ignored my emails...leaving me with weak selling products. Loosing sales daily. Finally I called and spoke to Claudette. She was marvelous. She finally got Nicole to email me and Nicole explained that Claudette has no say in the business and that she isn't an employee of ACME. (even though she is the artist and answers the phone). Finally I got my product but one of the bags was damaged, one of the tags is damaged and a key chain is pealing the design off (not sticking). Yes I called and yes ignored again. With those calls I wanted to order more Molly bags but do to the inability to get through to anyone I will not get my order before Christmas, and ending this by selling through every thing, that is left. (This was suppose to be a fun business venture I did for my daughter at the mall. Sadly it turned into a big nightmare and will NEVER deal with Fluff (ACME) again.) Awonderbox is a liquidator/resale charity thrift store that is very small, but beautiful. You know…read morewhen you find a little business working hard to serve the community, but nowhere near the size and reach of an American Cancer Society Discovery Shop or, more locally to this desert region, Revivals? Well that's what I found today when I walk into Awonderbox. The mission is to service women, children, Veterans and homeless through discounted resale goods. Betty was holding down the shop when Hubs and I walked into Awonderbox and she is an absolute DELIGHT! There is a good supply of familiar BB&B items, but the ticketed price seemed average. Betty explained that the linens are all 50% off the ticketed price and everything else is UP TO 50% off the ticketed price. Ok, NOW we're talking. A great example was a Bee&Willow TWIN sheet set for $14! An Everhome Egyptian Cotton 700 thread count flat King/CalKing sheet is $50. There are some clothes, with tags on, nothing second hand, but it seems the key items came from a 2024 liquidation of BB&B inventory. If you are a crafty Cricket person, Awonderbox did seem to have A LOT of fancy Cricket paper rolls and items to use with Cricket. Also some kitchen items and some pretty jewelry. We selected a much need LARGE black sunscreen for our SUV and also some fitted sheet corner fasteners. I recently bought a 2pc set of these from Amazon and paid $8, this set was 25% off the ticketed price of $10, so $7.50, buuuuut there were 4pcs in this set. SCORE! While it's helpful to know all the linens are 50% off the ticketed price, it would be even MORE HELPFUL to know what the discount is on other items. Our window sunscreen was 25% off, which made it juuust a bit over $14. That's fine, but hardly a liquidation price. And poor Betty couldn't tell us what the discounted price was going to be on our iuntil she entered it into the desktop computer and THAT point of sale was set up to ask if we would be paying with cash or card before she could proceed. Looking over the counter at the monitor, it seemed as if it was set up for color coded stickers determining the discount. That would be a really simple strategy, and maybe the bugs are getting workout for that plan. I would definitely stop in regularly to see what comes into Awonderbox, but more so to visit with Betty. Birdie was able to get us set up in one afternoon... And had a caregiver here at 7 AM the next morning. Sophia worked a 12 hour shift taking care of my brother. And I could see right away that she wasn't just doing a "job"... She was truly caring for my brother. Her work came from her heart. And the same was true for Ryan, who relieved her at 7 PM. Sadly, my brother died around 8:30 that night. Yet Ryan stayed with me, to provide moral support, until the mortuary finally picked up my brother's body.
