Our entire appointment was setup through the Yelp app. Super convenient. I didn't go with another vendor because they wanted me to call in order to get the details of what I needed & give me bid. Not Jon. I was able send pictures, talk price, get his recommendations & set the appointment all through the app. He arrived earlier than me, saved me money by reusing parts from another lock that was being removed. Jon was friendly, efficient and competitively priced. I will be calling him again and referring him when friends and family need a locksmith. 6-stars!!!!

I would never use American Lock and Key again. My experience was extremely disappointing and…read moreunprofessional from start to finish. I was originally quoted $322, but the final bill came to $399. I was told the additional cost was due to my house being older, but that should have been identified before the work began. A professional should thoroughly assess the job before starting, not discover issues midway through and pass those costs on to the customer. I should not have been charged extra because proper planning and surveying of the job were not done beforehand. The payment process was also frustrating. The technician appeared unsure about how to use the Square payment system. After I paid, he loudly stated, "That's your receipt, ma'am." As a small business owner who also uses Square, I explained that what I received was simply a bank alert showing my card had been charged and that an actual receipt could be sent through the Square app. He seemed irritated that I understood the system and became visibly agitated during the conversation. To make matters worse, after he left, the deadbolt would not turn properly. I had to call him back before he had even made it down the street, and he returned to fix it. That issue should have been caught before the job was considered complete. The work area was also left messy. There were screws on the ground that could have ended up in my tires, and the old lock sets and debris were left scattered around for me to clean up. I don't mind paying $400 for quality work and professional service. However, this job felt rushed, poorly planned, and incomplete. Between the unexpected charges, the payment confusion, the lock malfunction, and the cleanup I had to do myself, I feel like I paid far too much for the level of service I received. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend American Lock and Key. My experience left me feeling rushed, frustrated, and ripped off.

We had to wait several months for the insurance to come through, but as soon as I called to tell them we had the monies, they were here within a couple of days. Would have probably been here earlier, but we had a tree company that was supposed to be cutting down some trees and I asked them to wait a week, but when they called and said they had a cancellation if the tree guys were finished, I told them to come on as the tree people have still not shown up 5 days later! They even tried to get it done in a downpour but it became too strong a storm to work in, but they came back first thing the next morning. Did a fantastic job. Looks great. And they checked to make sure we were happy with the job before the workers left.
