i did a dear friend a major favor by taking and keeping his aunt company at bronxdale bingo on…read morewhite plains rd in the bronx and it was fairly fun watching the old folks yell and insult each other in a mostly friendly manner. i grew up 15 minutes away and its my first time inside this very old corner building . the folks playing bingo are regulars and everyone seems to know each other by first name. if you are new just be on fast mode as the balls are called quickly and if you snooze then you lose as the guy calling out the numbers keeps it moving . miss tina hade me play a few of her boards and whenever someone yelled bingo and it was not me or her she would curse up a storm which had me hiding under the table. i actually had fun and its a great way for folks who are retired or really enjoy bingo to get out of the house and make some moola.

They have hot dogs, grilled cheese, specials and some fine looking cakes. With my meal I got a piece of chocolate cake with chocolate icing. That was for sure a homemade slice of cake. There were some unique games besides regular bingo such as starburst, bell, 3 stooges etc. My one tip get there as early as possible so You can setup the order of your cards, and map out the patterns. First experience: I called to follow up the information I saw on their website. The website states…read morethat doors open at 5:30, and games start at 7. I called and a gentleman told me that the games began at 5:30 and the next game would be 7:15pm. I drove 45 minutes with my boyfriend to come, called - and they had said they close the doors at 5:45, and a game would be going on tomorrow at 7:15. I felt really upset because of the distance and false information. I feel that it's shady that they won't leave the doors open for people to come in to play Bingo. I found this to be disappointing. Second experience: The staff here is extremely friendly. The coffee, tea and concession stand is surprisingly good. Visitors were friendly. Please keep in mind that the regulars have their spots so beware. Wish they would tell how much the jackpot is before each game. Prices are reasonable. Crowd is very diverse :) I liked this. If you have any allergies - please keep in mind that people smoke in here. They are not suppose to but like many halls, they do. Wish they really enforced this rule because I suffer from allergies. Wish they would be fun when they yell out the numbers. I think it would make BINGO that much better ;)
