Giving them one star is too generous. This Hertz is a complete joke and should be shut down!!! No customer service by the guy in the front desk and when I called and spoke to Jennifer the "senior branch manager" she was a complete joke herself. They charged us a 199.80 in gas which in reality the van that we had was towed over to Las Vegas. It had a full tank. By the way they get commission off of fuel & service. So that was a bad move on his end. The guy also refused to release any AZ license plated cars to us. Since they weren't going to get them back. He wanted to get us into and OLD Mazda 5 for 6 people + luggage. That poor car looked like it's been through the ringer. I think he had to be out of his mind, after what we been through. Overall he was just extremely rude and had the worst attitude ever. Not sure why Hertz hired such people to Represent them. I called the "senior branch manager" to let her know my situation and to file a complaint. She basically told me good luck call corporate they will just re-rout the complaint back to me. She claims to be in the rental industry for over 15 yrs but has no sympathy and no respect for her customers. She has no sense of professionalism. Giving this "Hertz" 1 star is ridiculous. They deserve -10. I feel bad for the people that get stranded out there and have no choice but to deal with a bunch of rude, unprofessional "representatives" of Hertz. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this location at all cost.

However, I accidentally went to another rental shop and thought my reservation was there. That rental shop did not tell me my reservation wasn't on their books and so I ended up renting from them, not knowing that I made a reservation with a different company (Riverstar) I ended up having a missed call from an unknown number at 12 and I called it back at 5 only to realize it was Riverstar rentals asking where I was with my reservation and why I didn't show up to get me jet skis. At that moment, I had realized I didn't have a reservation for the skis I picked up. When speaking with the owner (I forget his name) I could tell he was bummed as he held the skis all day waiting for me when they easily could have gone to someone else. Instead of complaining and getting upset with me, he asked if I had fun, was understanding about it and handled it very professionally. I am looking forward to using River Star rentals next time I visit. It's not always about how company's handle things that go right, but how they handle them when they go wrong.

I opted to rent from this location because I always find that renting from locations outside of the airport end up in fewer taxes and fees. I decided, as a result, to stay at the Golden Nugget across the street. I picked my hotel based on the rental car location so my wife and I could get the car and get on the road earlier. To my surprise, when I showed up to the Avis counter at 8am (the time I reserved and made sure the location would be open) I found a sign on the desk that said this location is sold out! There was a number for me to call. I call the number and find out I have to go to Circus Circus. The representative told me, oh it's no big deal we are only a few miles away. Glad she could tell me it was no big deal, I found it to be kind of a big deal. So, I get a rideshare ride over to Circus Circus and the representative asked if I wanted coverage and I said no I have insurance, she said great basic coverage and I said yeah whatever my personal insurance covers is basic I guess. So, she prints the agreement, says sign here and initial here etc. I noticed there was a price about 400 dollars more than I paid as I had prepaid the fair for the car. 826 dollars. When I see 1200+ on the invoice I said wait, why is this different, what is the actual amount I am going to pay? She pointed to the 826 and said that one. I didn't think much of it, and though maybe it was reflecting a price I would have paid if I had waited to pay instead of prepaying online. I mean I should be able to trust her, right? She's an employee and I assume she is going to tell me the truth. WRONG!!!!! Now I will say, shame on me for not reading the cumbersome and long complete rental agreement, but again when I prepaid and agreed to a rate and agreement online I didn't expect a sketchy employee to lie to me and tack services I didn't agree to on my bill. The sad thing is, I wouldn't have noticed the difference but after I returned from my trip on the 27th I looked at my credit card bill and saw that I paid an additional 400 dollars. Avis corporate was no help. I waited 1/2 an hour to speak to someone only to get disconnected when I asked about the charges. I tried again and the line was so faint and kept echoing I finally just asked to speak to a manager and I was promptly put on hold again. After 45 minutes I disconnected the line and sent an email instead. Their customer service said they weren't going to refund me for services I requested. Avis apparently is ok with employees practicing unethical business practices, providing services customers don't want, along with wasting their customer's time with making them go to other locations to get the car they reserved weeks ahead of time. I will not be using Avis again, as their employees and company don't care about their customers and act in an EXTREMELY unethical way.
