Alas, all good things come to an end, so does this location. Years ago, I raved about this place…read morebeing a nerd-vana? Now, it's nothing like that. All the little things that made me want to drive out to this place are dead and gone. Shelving for old X-Box, PS, Nintendo, Sega, Atari, and Intellivision games? Gone. Replaced by row upon row of soulless Funko Pops. Boardgame section? Hardly any used and all new... and no real reason to buy there as opposed to Amazon or other online BG retailer. RPG section? No more 1e D&D modules or older materials, or anything else for that matter. Just the same old 5e crap, with Critical Role mixed in, with video game guides slowly spreading into the section like a cancer. The only good thing was not in the store, but in the parking lot, where they had a car show going on. The place turned from nerd-vana into just another BAM! bookstore (the owners of 2nd & Charles). Won't be back.

We discovered this mecca of used books, video games, role playing games, music and comics years ago…read moreon a road trip between Florida and Texas. It used to be a Books-A-Million from the same chain. They have a great selection of used tabletop RPGs that also includes some new products at full retail price. It's a huge store that buys from customers. Getting into and out of the parking lot is difficult because U.S. 190 and service roads are confusing and traffic is chaotic. I use my phone to navigate even short drives in this part of Covington.

Cute store that benefits the organization next door. Not the greatest selection and smaller, so…read morethat's why the 4 stars. They also have limited hours which can be a problem for anyone who works and/or has a busier schedule. The only day I can visit is Saturday and they close at 4pm even on that day. They are closed on Sunday. The prices are reasonable for a thrift store and they have half off based on the color of some tags. I did find one item half off. A fun storage container. I got a cute top to to wear with leggings for $3. They have a small room in the back that is called the vintage room. There were a few, nice pieces but they were all very small sizes. They were okay prices but maybe a smidge high for thrifting. That selection was a little disappointing but maybe it's better on other days. They had a big table of Dunkin' Donuts bagged coffee and pods at really good prices but it was all pumpkin spice which really isn't my thing but if it's yours, you should head over (this is as of 2/4/23)! I may visit again and check if they sometimes get in other flavors. Have cash on-hand or be prepared to pay an additional 4% fee to use a debit or credit card. The store isn't that big and I was there on a Saturday, so it was rather crowded and I had to stand in line about 10-15 minutes because there was only one register. That's not a complaint because this is a small, charity thrift store. I bet the 2 or 3 ladies I saw who appeared to being working there are volunteers. I just want to people you know what to expect, so of you are in a big hurry, you may want to skip going until you have a little more time. The neighborhood in Mandeville where it's located is a walkable area with a couple of restaurants right down the street, The Rusty Pelican and Hambone. Free public parking lot is directly across the street from Gran's if you can't find a spot on the street. If you like thrifting, you should check out Gran's if you are in the neighborhood.

It was cleanly and small but not nearly enough stuff. I was in and out in 3 minutes. Clean but not…read morebig enough for a thrifter.
