This was a very stereotypical gaming store. Things were "put" away in a cartons and easily messy organized. The lighting is very dull and dim, and no one really seems too excited to help newpeople coming in if the came in the door. Once we finally got some people talking to us, we' learned more about how the shop runs and know it offered a lot of different geeky things too! This is the single worst card store ive ever shopped at. I have spent a few thousand dollars here in the last year, only to be treated like **** each visit, never a thank you or a hello or a goodbye. Just arrogance and predatory prices while recieving the largest allotment in central illinois. He resells to other card stores forcing them to mark up the products and act predatory themselves just to survive. The difference between them and the small stores though is these guys are not floundering. They arent being screwed by their distribution. Ive seen how much they get in supply and marking Prismatic Evolutions up at almost 3 times the cost is simply not justified. He recieves enough to sell at msrp. He is greedy and not kind. His staff are rude, roll their eyes at you, and act like having to look at a few premium cards is a chore. I just wouldnt recommend and wont go there again. I know for a fact that his reasoning goes beyond surviving or simply just prospering profit wise, into simple greed and the MAXIMIZATION of profit. He maximizes well beyond his needed profit margin because the card shops EVERY WHERE ELSE ARE FAR SMALLER, LESS WELL SUPPLIED, AND FAR MORE FAIR AND REASONABLE. All one must do is compare prices to everywhere else and deduce the rest. I always make sure the single ive sold them have sold before i come in with more. Mine ALWAYS SELL FAST. i TRY to be considerate, to make sure im not wasting their time by bringing useless shit. Im still treated as though im asking them to sort through a stack of uncommon cards though. Why? Why am i treated with suspicion when offering to give them HUNDREDS of dollars worth of premium modern era singles for literally pennies on the dollar? Then this guy is in here gaslighting people accusing them of using them as a pawn shop? You guys offer LESS than pawn stores, they give you 50 percent of what its worth. Stop acting like your doing the public a favor by acting as everyones literal last resort. Eric told me once i need 190 dollars trade credit to get a 80 dollar prismatic evolution SIR, one he thought i hadnt already checked the price on. He flat out lied and ive always wondered what he would have said had i confronted him with the lowest ebay listing i could find that was 70 dollars less than what he was stairing at on his screen and relaying back falsely. Eric the Owner is also ALWAYS smelling of Alcohol, with the care free IDGAF attitude of someone who has completely lost touch with right and wrong, and their ability to manage and control professional relationships. read more

Be careful when buying from these guys. I'll note that afterwards I realized this was the 2nd time I purchased from their website (last time I bought 2x 2020 Optic Football Hobby Boxes from them for a solid price below market rate, and they cancelled afterwards saying they were out of stock... right). This time, I found their listing for a 2021 Contenders Draft Picks Hobby Box through a Google search and snatched up what I thought was a good deal. I half-expected the order to get cancelled. This time, however, they shipped the order to me... awesome! Once I received the package, I knew it was too small for multiple boxes; yep, they sent me packs instead of boxes. Ugh. I messaged the store asking for a refund, and they told me I should have known that the listing was for packs (because, you know, a consumer is supposed to make assumptions from a listing that shows a box and doesn't say "pack" anywhere on it). They then took down their incorrect listing and claimed I was buying from a "3rd party" even though it was clearly their website. When I threatened to go through my CC if they didn't refund, they chose to block me on Messenger instead. REAL classy business. Buyer beware! read more

This is an absolutely amazing place for family's to come, hobbiest, and seasoned gamers. Family friendly, and an impressive inventory. Hands down I totally love this place. I can take my 11, 9, and 2 year old here and know they are in an environment conducive for their age. That being said I as an adult can find games for our family to play. And still be able to pick up stuff for my competitive hobbies. Very versatile. read more

First drove an hour and a half because they said they do the MVP buyback for Topps and they wont do it because nobody that knows sports is there, ridiculous! Last time i was here, stood at counter trying to buy something and they kept helping new people coming in because they were friends with them. It was obvious, so unprofessional and management doesn't know what their doing. Not worth it! read more

Ordered two comic art boxes online. One of them arrived clearly used and beat up/damaged. Emailed the store with pics and a request for a partial refund on the damaged box...no response from anyone which I guess means my business is not worth their time. We'll see if disputing the charge with my credit card company gets their attention. read more

The store is under new ownership and just moved a couple doors down to new location (same shopping center). Great collection of modern back issues, working on more silvers/bronze, and a vast majority of the new titles every week. He will special order for you and do a pull list. Easy to contact via Facebook with questions or requests and he's always quick to reply. Supplies and trading/role play cards as well (but I don't know as much about that stuff). One thing also about Eric is that he's super-fair with trades for store credit. A lot of places treat you like you're an arsehole just for asking or they try to spleef you. Eric is not that way at all. read more

I couldn't find a specific item locally so I checked online and this store was one of 2 options with the item at a reasonable price. It was actually my 2nd choice due to being farther away and a few dollars higher price. I tried the other store of the 2 options first. When resolving a website order issue on the phone with the other store they didn't really seem to care to make the over $220 sale. That left 217ccg as my second choice. I noticed on the website that they only had 1 of the item I wanted so I called them before the order was processed online. The woman I talked to at 217ccg pulled the item off the shelf before my transaction was complete online to make sure it would be available. I then noticed the small price difference compared to the first store I contacted was actually due to better shipping. I ended up receiving my purchase the same week I ordered. I expected longer due to the distance. It was definitely worth the small price difference for better shipping and customer service. No doubt it should have been my first choice. read more
