By looking at the mailboxes at the front door, there are 14 apartments. Toltec is also a historic landmark with a marker along the fenced gate which reads... "Designed by Ernest P. Behles and built by the Gordon-Jones Construction Company, the three story concrete and masonry Toltec Apartment house was constructed in 1913 for Dr. Augustus Maverick, who was tragically murdered before it's completion. The Maverick family played an important role in San Antonio's early downtown development. Tenants included family members who owned the property until 1996. Prominent aspects of the building include it's U-shaped layout, white stone detailing on the exterior brick, and a concrete and cast staircase that rises from the basement to the third floor. Constructed in early 20th century classical revival style, the buildings distinct architectural integrity is preserved in it's original design, hardware and finishes." This review is only for the location and historical aspects of the building. I have not lived here nor have I ever viewed the interior of the building.

It seems like the construction was rushed, with no attention to detail before handing it over to my wife and me. Considering the price we paid, we expected better quality throughout the entire property. Additionally, there is only one area available to dispose of trash, which is the compactor, and it's locked away from the community. This means that on days when there is no valet trash pickup, the trash just piles up. While the homes and neighborhood are visually appealing, and the staff and property are nice, it takes more than superficial items to make it a truly great property.

The property is extremely dirty, especially the interior hallways, and there is always a lingering smell and stains everywhere inside out. There's been too many vehicle break-ins to even count . This is partially due to the fact that the garage gate has not been closed for almost half a year now. On top of that, have the doors to the building remain unlocked. The security here is a joke. It's of the few places Ive lived where there doesn't seem to be a security officer or someone patrolling the garage. Communication for management is terrible. when they do decide to communicate, it's either the wrong message or passive aggressive. If you ask for something done, such as noise complaints, you will get no kind of follow-up or reassurance that anything was handled. Furthermore, you will hear every single movement above you. The ceilings are paper thin, and you may get lucky enough to have a Airbnb right above you with ridiculous amount of noise levels and kids running around constantly, with management taking zero accountability when it affects the residents. I was told I should wear headphones in my apt to deal with the noise. Would not recommend at all.
