Margaritas are way too sweet, made with a mix. Food was peculiar, Mexican names, but it's where the resemblance ends. Won't bother again.

Our second time was no disappointment! Someone had mentioned a mushroom salsa and I knew I had to try it. Omg. You need this in your life. A solid mix of mushrooms and pico de gallo. Amazing is the only word that fits. Im a pescatarian so their menu is somewhat limited for me. This time I tried to avocado tostada with shrimp added. It was delicious, but next time I'd ask for the sour cream on the side. Im not a huge sour cream fan and it came loaded with it. Once I'd removed most of it, the salad was legit, the shrimp well seasoned and the beans were super good. My husband had the chili rellano trio and his chili's was hands down the best I've ever tasted. That's what I'm ordering next time - just the chili rellano. It was that good. Those still commenting about the heavy salt just need to get used to properlyseasoned Mexican food. The order place in "town" doesn't understand seasoning and I think everyone is just used to their food tasting like nothing.

Where is the 6th star? No, this is not a Michelin star restaurant. Given the location it's far superior to local competition. Being newly renovated you cannot ask for a cleaner establishment. The food was great. Not bland so likely why some complained about being "salty". Pours were second to none and those chips. Oh those chips... backed with spicy salsa I am in heaven. One word- yum. Come get yours.

Cute little restaurant that's dressed to the nines in themed decor. The portions here are pretty big, so it's great for the price. The only downside I've had so far is that, as others have mentioned, is that most of the food here seems oddly heavy on the salt. The alcoholic drinks my family ordered were a little strong as well. Others may enjoy that, though.

Excellent service! What a warm welcome to Home 2 Margaritas is! A fun, vibrant atmosphere that's family friendly too! We loved the flavored margaritas and enjoyed the pre dinner chips with complimentary salsa, beans and queso, AND chiveche.

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to give a 2 or a 3, ideally I'd give a 2.5 but the service was great so I went with a 3. Don't get me wrong, the drinks are great- I got a skinny jalapeño mango margarita and it was delicious! I had one on the rocks and one blended, they were both great but I'd probably stick to on the rocks next time. The food wasn't bad, I am extremely picky with my Mexican food. I ordered the shredded chicken macho burrito, there wasn't too much flavor to it but everything was very fresh. The service staff was extremely helpful and attentive. The restaurant was pretty empty so the ambiance was very nice as well. Side note- I wasn't too sure about the mushroom salsa but to my surprise, it was very tasty! Their red salsa is a bit too watery than I prefer but did have some nice flavor to it!

We've been falling out of love with our local Mexican places after noticing downgrades in food quality. We don't want to throw shade but suffice it say we were hungry for an excellent Mexican experience. This place has been on my radar for years passing by, so we decided to make the trek out there today. Excellent experience! When we first arrived, I was a little unsure by what appeared to be a converted house. However we loved the outdoor fountain with all of the beautifully painted rocks celebrating unity and American and Mexican culture. Very cool idea I don't think I've ever seen anywhere else and set the tone for a very excellent family Mexican experience. This place has one of the best dining rooms I've ever seen with the option to sit in an enclosed heated outdoor dining room literally out on the ocean. We loved gazing out upon the water and the fishermen. We also saw pictures of when seals took over their dock right outside. Very cool space, very unique. We were immediately greeted upon entering by a wonderful and friendly young lady who was so nice to us and gave us excellent service during our whole dining experience. One of the best service experiences we've had recently. The food was excellent. My biggest complaint with Mexican places since COVID is the quality has noticeably plummeted as everyone is cutting corners to save money. El Puerto de Angeles' food was excellent, high quality and fresh. Chips and Taco Shells were fresh and crispy. Tomatoes, guacamole and everything was fresh and of high quality. Extremely tasty. We had a Mexican pizza while I went with the Asada burrito and my wife went with a huge combination plate. Everything tasted fabulous. The Mexican Pizza was excellently balanced with great ingredients. My wife's chicken, steak and shrimp were all amazing. The shrimp especially with that excellent sauce was probably my favorite part of the meal but her chicken was also super tasty. My asada burrito was unique with a delicious beans and steak fill with a very tasty wet sauce. Everything we ate here exceeded our expectations. My wife reports her blended margarita was fabulous with a unique blend of salt on the rim. Overall was extremely happy to finally visit El Puerto de Angeles. The food exceeded what we were expecting, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere in the outside dining area is one of the best we've experienced. We will definitely come back here any time we're in the mood for Mexican!

But the very best item, and you won't find it at most restaurants, is the pork shank. Either alone or with a shrimp skewer. Tender, rich in flavor, and a lot of meat. We go here just to have the shank. The restaurant staff are great and we've never had anything other than good service. The gentleman that provides the complimentary chips and salsa was on top of it in providing water and taking care of everything. All the staff were friendly and quick to respond depending on their role. The size of the plates can be shared, we made a mistake and ordered our own plates. The salsa was not hot but very good, placed that on top of my food. They serve a mushroom and refried beans with the salsa. The beans were watery and would prefer them thicker. The mushrooms were different, never had but worth trying. Ordered the famous nachos, but replaced the chips with fries because the toppings looked better than their asada fries. Plenty of cheese and very dense. It needed more spices as it was a bit bland. The chicken had no flavor but absorbed the cheese flavor. The guacamole was small for the plate size. The other dish was also good just bland, it was a take enchiladas. Ended up eating the meat out of the insides as the tortillas were thick or doubled.

The salsa was a little on the liquidy side and not quite as spicy as we like but still had good flavor. We ordered a side of the fresh guacamole, it was delicious! After looking through the extensive menu and asking some questions we ordered the chipotle shrimp and street tacos (asada, al pastor, chorizo). First the shrimp dish, creamy and spicy, very tasty! The street tacos were real good, especially the chorizo and al pastor! The asada was ok, just lacked the flavor the other two had, probably the best chorizo I've ever had. Also if you like traditional refried beans, these are outstanding, perfect richness and creaminess you expect from refried beans made in house. We were very full when we left. We ordered queso dip with chorizo to go so we could have that with our game night tonight. Thanks for a great experience, we will be back!! I forgot to mention, you have to ask for it but they have a habanero sauce that was so tasty, nice and spicy but you could also taste the habanero pepper, not just total heat. Totally recommend it!
