This store was packed during my trip to Julian today - either because it was one of the only stores in Julian open after 5 p.m. (it was 5:30) or because people were really excited over their organic cotton clothing. This store also has darling baby shoes, but the jewelry and hair clips were nothing special. The crochet handmade purses were impressive for only $35. My mom pointed out that for the amount of labor to make them the sewer must have charged less than minimum wage. (I don't mean to sound like Karl Marx, I'm really just saying, "Wow! $35!")

I've been remiss in not giving a "shout out" to Kathy's Dress Shop. I've been coming to Julian for…read moreabout 30 years and never came in here because - well, I guess I assumed it mostly had dresses. About 5 years ago, I was in Julian with girlfriends instead of my husband and we went inside. First of all, Kathy is such a sweet lady and so is the other gal with the small dog. They are both very nice and helpful! They have dresses, pants, tops, jackets, cute clocks up high, and some cute gift items. Through this shop, I was turned onto Jess & Jane brand tops, which I love (along with some other nice brands). Jess & Jane are often 100% cotton (yeah!) and are made in the USA (big applause). Every time we visit Julian (once or twice a year), I come in here and almost always find something. They also typically have a sale rack out on the front porch. They have a nice little dressing room so that you can try things on before buying. Check this place out on your visit!

By the time we got to Julian, I was a distraught mess since we only had less than an hour to find me a new ensemble. Kathy was so incredibly helpful. She found a very nice dress for me to wear and was even willing to hem it if necessary. Thankfully, it didn't come to that. She also helped me find a great necklace to go with my new outfit. I had already paid by the time I realized I didn't have earrings to match. Kathy gave me a pair of earrings to take with me. I just can't say enough good things about her. The outfit turned out to be better than the one I forgot at home. She really came through in a pinch, and I'll be forever grateful.

This is a super fun thrift store in idyllwild where can find plenty of treasures and fabulous…read moredeals! The place is huge and is unique in that part of its store is out door, offering a hybrid shopping experience. The shops are separated by sections. There are areas specified for furniture, appliances, kitchenware, clothes, decor, toys and more. Inside they have a higher end boutique style area. They also have super special saving deal days with 20-50% off. My only issue is that the craft, toy and baby clothes are minimal.

The staff was some of the rudest I've experienced. We have two girls, one of which was trying on…read morehats in the store. One of the staff came up and said, "Don't put on the hats. They're not toys." He then basically yanked the hat out of her hand. She was geniunely trying on hats and asking us to buy one. First sale lost. My other daughter was measuring her feet with the foot that foot measurement thing and, again, the same guy came over and took it from her saying something like "it's not a toy". Again, we were looking for shoes for her and needed her current foot size. Second sale lost. I had already picked out a pair of flipflops that I was going to buy but, obviously, I had no intention of giving these folks any money. We exchanged some words and left. I get it. Idyllwild is a town that doesn't really get tourism even though they are fully dependent on it. However, if you want to sell to us tourists, a little bit of charm and tolerance would go a long way. Charm school for the staff is highly recommended!

You need to purchase your shoes on the day of your birthday to receive a ten percent discount. Collins has no customer service or information concerning the discounts for using the Nike discount application. I had received my information from customer service. This store gives great customer, no service. You are rushed for the sale. And Since all sales are final. You can go pound sand. I recommend going anyplace else that gives buy one get the second half off or real discount shown in final price. These shoes were rotated out of retail stores but question," Did I receive an actual discount ? The way this store is run. I would definitely say no.
