History
Established in 2018.
This business evolved to deal with a problem in aviation...the lack of pilots in the pipeline to fill airline cockpit seats. As the story goes, S&S Aviation in Winnsboro needed flight instructors because the lure of bigger airplanes and more pay had called available flight instructors away from the primary training flight line of the Part 61 school. One day in mid-2018, Jay got a call from the FBO owner asking him if he'd consider returning to flight instruction to fill the trained instructor void. The answer was a wholehearted "yes" and this part-time job rapidly morphed into one with flight instruction almost every day. Blessed with Air Force pilot experience, high school and college teaching experience, good health and past experience as a CFI, the perfect match was made. As he puts it, there is no better office than the one with the airplane front window seat. A room with a real view!
