One of my bucket list items was to ride in a hot air balloon, and for my recent birthday, my husband surprised me with this epic adventure! We met the team early on a Saturday morning, and I couldn't believe that we were going in a small basket. I almost jumped in the van with the 15+ group, but instead it was basically a private ride - just Kevin, his niece, his wife, and the two of us. (The other two were helpful when we landed, not to mention photos. Kevin's wife is an expert at getting the best photos. She took the rising sun shot of me that is no doubt the best photo ever taken involving me!) Kevin is a seasoned pro, and the trip showed. We went up high, where we could see the mountains by Flagstaff, the mountains by Tucson, and everything that lay in between. But then, being a smaller, more maneuverable balloon, we were able to skim along the desert hills. We soared just over the tips of the saguaro cacti, and Kevin told us all about the desert flora and fauna. We saw several jackrabbits and even a coyote. This is not the experience you get in the larger balloons, and it's absolutely magical! We eventually landed in the middle of a housing community, which brought a crowd of interested onlookers, but the chase team showed up quickly to load up the balloon while we heard the tale of the first balloonists and then drank a champagne toast to the rising sun while we listened to the Balloonist's Prayer. It was truly a special event, and it did not disappoint in any way. It is hard to live up to something you've always dreamed of doing, but somehow Kevin and his team made it all that and then some. read more

I can't recommend this company enough. Debbie and Kevin made the experience absolutely unforgettable and helped my fiancé plan a surprise proposal. Kevin kept us entertained in the air with some cool stories and fun facts about hot air ballooning and Debbie was so energetic and pleasant while on the ground. The basket is small and intimate but we preferred it that way. We were worried about the landing but it couldn't have been smoother. read more

2 Fly Us Hot Air Balloon Rides - Cool shot that Debbie took while we were in the basket. - Hot Air Balloons Near Me

My wife and I have had the opportunity to ride in a hot air balloon a couple of time before out in California wine country and really enjoyed it so when we were looking for something special to do on valentines day this caught my eye especially since Kevin offers a sunset flight (all our other flights were sunrise, crack of dawn affairs where you have to get up at 4 am!) What makes this company a standout is that it is small-just one guy, Kevin, and he only takes 4 people per trip which is so much nicer than the other flights we've been on with 12 or 16. Kevin is the best host and he's got great stories to tell having flown balloons for over 30 years all over the world (be sure to ask him about Curt Russel and Goldie Hawn in Aspen). We met up about 3:45 pm at the Dunkin donuts rendezvous point and were driven to the launch site-a big open field of state land. As it was Valentines Day there was a bevy of other balloons with the same plan (the ballon guys are all like one big family) all spread out inflating around the same time but we were the only one of the 15 that wasn't 12 or 16 or even 23 people. It was great to see all the balloons getting ready and we were one of the first away. Some with the larger crowds were as much as 30 minutes late but all have to be down by sunset (around 630 this time of year). The flight was around an hour then ended with the traditional toast with sparkling wine and he even provided some chocolates as well. The ride itself was great with Kevin deftly maneuvering the balloon. Highly recommended! read more

My boyfriend surprised me with a hot air balloon ride for my 25th birthday last week. Kevin and his partner were vibrant hosts and were both very knowledgeable about flying. I thought I would be a little nervous, but the ride was smooth and these guys are obviously pros which put me at ease. Kevin knew the lay of the land well and served as an excellent tour guide. The champagne toast at the end was a perfect treat at the end of our flight. I would definitely recommend taking a trip with Kevin. The other balloons we saw taking off around us were carrying 8-14 people each, and our little basket held two couples and Kevin. I'm very glad my boyfriend booked with 2 Fly Us because we had a more intimate trip--the other couple on our flight was lovely. Two notes: Be prepared to wake up early and the flame for the balloon is HOT! I regretted wearing a nice top because I definitely sweated through it. Goes for any hot air balloon flight, but thought it was worth mentioning. read more

Kevin and Debbie were amazing from the moment I called and asked questions! They treated us like friends and made the flight well worth it. Love that it's a husband and wife team, along with their daughters help! We felt safe during the whole flight and enjoyed the conversation - so nice that they only fly 4 people besides the pilot! The basket isn't overcrowded and all around good views. Great views too!! Debbie does magic with her cell phone pictures of take off and landing and shares them with you!! Definitely glad I chose 2flyus! read more

This is sort of a must-do in Phoenix - at least once. Seeing the sunrise from behind the Superstition Mountains at 4,000 feet above the desert is everything you'd imagine it to be, except better. And silently skimming the desert floor, just over the Saguaros is nothing but exhilarating. The whole experience, from scheduling the flight to ending it with a Champagne toast, went unbelievably smooth. A single call to the pilot from my Yelp App on my phone got the flight scheduled - took less than a minute to do. He gave us a time and a place to meet and that was it - he didn't even ask for a credit card number to hold the reservation. The pilot gave us a call the night before to confirm and was waiting for us when we arrived. The best part was that it was just the two of us in the basket - a private flight. This was not one of those sardine in a can type flights where 14 people are squished together - it was just us and the pilot. We got lessons on hot air ballooning, desert foliage, and the local geography while we had the time of our lives. After it was over, we wrapped it up with chocolates, muffins, and a Champagne toast while the crew rolled up and stowed the balloon. So, once again, Yelp gets it right - you just can't go wrong choosing 2FlyUs.com for your hot air balloon experience! read more

A friend and I were in town for a convention and heard about hot air balloon rides being a popular activity around here so I jumped on Yelp , found this page, and called the number. Expecting someone to be taking business calls in a nice climate-controlled office, I was taken by surprise when the man answering the phone asked me to call back, explaining that he was occupied at the moment with landing the balloon. Upon calling back awhile later, we found out that, to our luck, several people had cancelled their reservation the next day so there was room for us! Kevin was really nice to talk to over the phone and he sent us the address of the meet-up location, which was a Dunkin' Donuts. It took a bit of commitment to wake up at 4am to get to the meet-up location by 6am. It was an easy place to find and relatively safe, being a plaza with several businesses. And the Dunkin' was open at 6am so you didn't have to be outside in the dark. Kevin and his crew rolled up in two vans towing the balloons, picked us up, and we were on our way to find the perfect take-off spot! After about 15-20 minutes of driving around and seeing how the winds were for the day, we found a spot for take off. It was pretty nice to watch the sunrise while the crew inflated the balloons. They even let us stand INSIDE the balloon while it was inflating! One extra great thing about this company is that their balloons are smaller, and can only fit 3 passengers and 1 pilot. It's nice that everyone gets a "window" seat in the basket. And personally, I prefer a smaller group of people. The balloon ride lasted about 1.5 hours, and we went up to about 8,000 feet and saw the state of Arizona at its finest. Throughout the ride, Kevin was a great tour guide, providing a lot of interesting facts about Arizona and showing us specific points of interest in the vast landscape. He's also got a great sense of humor and shared with us some fun stories and encounters with celebrities during his adventures flying balloons throughout the years. After we landed the balloon, we had a champagne toast (I mean, who says no to mimosas at 9am?). I got to keep the cork from the bottle for good luck :) Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we couldn't ask for a better host and pilot than Kevin. You can see that he thoroughly enjoys what his job and does his best to share his joy with his passengers. read more

Initially it was a bit scary to me but once I got used to being up in the air it was a breeze (pun not intended). I booked the flight for myself and hubs and for a moment it looked as if it wasn't going to happen due to rain coming into Phoenix. Of all the times!!! We were called and asked if we wanted to change the date but we couldn't so it was left to see if the original date and weather would cooperate. They did! Kevin is a hoot which made for a great ride. Very professional but also fun which helped when I was still nervous. He explained many things about ballooning and its history and what things we were floating over (beware the jumping cholla cactus) and even told us there was an app for wind currents (which proves there is an app for every thing!). Our ride was a sunrise one and it was amazing to see the sun come over the mountains and watch the other balloons that were also flying that day to inflate and rise. But our ride rocked as his will only carry up to 4 people plus him unlike the others which looked like egg crates full of people - they can carry up to 14 at a time some of them. As it turned out it was just us and Kevin so it was fantastic. Seeing the world from 5000 feet in the air in a basket is something else!!!! If you want an experience to cross off your Bucket List or for a special occasion - I highly recommend Kevin. You will not regret it and like me will want to do it again! read more

I was in Phoenix for a few days and wanted to explore. My friend had Hot Air Balloon ride on her bucket list, and found this place at the top of the Trip Advisor ratings for Attractions in Phoenix, so I said, "What the heck? Let's do it!" I'm so glad that we chose 2 Fly Us instead of any of the other hot air balloon companies in the area. The folks who run this company are the best. They are friendly, funny, gracious and helpful. We were a few minutes late. No problem. My friend asked the ground crew to take photos of us as we were going up and landing. Done and done. My friend's phone battery was dying while we were mid-air, so they charged it for her. Talk about service! They make sure that this experience is the best. They clearly love what they do, and they make your trip worthwhile. The basket for their balloon is small, so everyone gets a window seat. You don't have to elbow past someone to try to see what's going on. The other companies take 14-20 passengers. This company takes 4 per flight. That's all. It's GREAT. They also get you up really high, show you all the mountains you can see, and then they bring you as close to the hills as you can get without landing. You get to see giant cacti that are hundreds of years old from the sky. You get close enough to wave and call out to people on hikes or out walking their dogs. It's really friggin cool. We took the sunset flight, which means you land before sunset and get to drink sparkling wine and eat chocolate while you watch the sunset from the ground after you've landed. If you're going to take a hot air balloon ride, this is the company you want to fly with. read more

My sister and I had booked 2 Fly Us when we were visiting Kalispell, MT, however due to weather conditions the ride had to be cancelled. Therefore, when we were in Phoenix, AZ we decided to rebook with them. It was Perfect! Even though most of us were a little afraid...the whole experience, from scheduling the flight to ending it with a Champagne toast, went unbelievably smooth. One of the best parts is that Kevin has a small basket, therefore it was just me, my husband, my sister and her husband. Beyond the ride, his fun facts, and his knowledge and expertise on flying balloons was Outstanding! Plus being a small family owned business makes this even better! Kevin's wife, Debbie, is an expert at getting the best photos, as well as being the chase team! The flight was around an hour or so, then ended with a champagne toast with sparkling wine and they even provided some snacks as well. We watched the sunset after a terrific flight! It was a fantastic experience and we couldn't ask for a better host and pilot than Kevin. You can see the passion he has for flying. If we ever make it back to one of these locations we will certainly go for another ride with Kevin! If you're going to take a hot air balloon ride, this is the company you want to fly with. read more

Kevin and Glen were spectacular. I bought my friend a ride for her birthday and she was gracious enough to bring me along. It was totally worth it! The crew was very friendly and extremely knowledgable on hot air balloons. I was a bit nervous but it was all put to ease because these guys were entertaining and professional. If I get up the gumption to do this again I will definitely go with these guys. The four person balloon seemed much nicer than those larger balloons, considering it was just me and my friend going. We met a very nice couple too, that joined us in the balloon. Kevin's stories were great and he knew so much. Definitely give these guys a try, it's worth every penny! read more

My boyfriend surprised me with a hot air balloon ride with Kevin and his crew. Getting 3,000 feet off the ground in a basket was an incredible experience. Hot air ballooning is a "thing" in Phoenix, we learned, and Kevin is THE guy to ride with! Beyond the ride, his fun facts about the city and desert, and the thrill of landing in a random neighborhood at the end, Kevin also performs a little ceremony at the end, where he tells the history of hot air ballooning over Champagne and snacks. Such a great touch! Definitely recommended!! read more

So fun!! Worth ever penny! The views were amazing and we loved the feeling of floating in the air and seeing all over Phoenix. However, the best part of this company is that the balloon only holds 4 people (plus the pilot), vs 14 people in other companies. It felt like we had our own private tour of the desert. It ended up to be just me & my husband, we felt so lucky!! The owner, Kevin, is also the pilot, so he was really invested in making sure we had an amazing flight. This did my disappoint!! Highly recommend. read more

We celebrate my daughter birthday with hot air balloon rides. There are only the 4 of us plus Kevin in the private flight, weather is nice and we've got to see the valley scenic bird eye view from the balloon. We enjoy the flight and conversation with Kevin, who is not only a great pilot, but has wealth of knowledges about hot air ballon, from the history of hot air ballon, to balloon festival in Alberquerque, rule and regulation for flying balloon, how the wind and air pressure affects the flight, etc. Kevin, his wife and daughter also take time to care for us from taking pictures, videos, prepare birthday cake, and drinks. We highly recommend Kevin and his company for hot air balloon rides read more

We took a flight with Kevin on New Years Eve. What a great way to end the year. I would highly recommend 2 Fly Us. Kevin made this a great day for us. My wife was a little apprehensive about the flight, but Kevin helped make it enjoyable. We started out staying rather low so we all became comfortable with flying. This was a first trip for everyone in the basket. We worked up to 4000 feet, but found flying at the lower heights to be more interesting. There are several companies that offer flights. Many of them have baskets that hold 8 to 14 people. I would recommend using a company with smaller baskets. ( 4 people plus pilot). We like the smaller more personal flight. Thanks to Kevin and chaser Gene for a great experience. read more

Money well spent. It was me and my finance` with 2 other people and the pilot who has been doing this for years, is very knowledgeable, has good stories to share, and gives an awesome flight. It was the best way I can think of to see the the beauty of the area with an aerial view. It's quiet which is nice for conversation. I also felt very safe and pretty comfortable. You do have to stand and are get a little close to the others in the basket if its more than 2-3 people but I felt comfortable enough for the duration of the flight. Thanks for such an awesome time Kevin and Gene! read more

My first time in a hot air balloon and the experience was amazing. Kevin and crew were fantastic. Will do this again!

Thank you Kevin for a fantastic flight on New Years Eve Day!! I bought the flight as a Christmas gift for my sister and her daughter and my mother tagged along. She is afraid of heights and was not sure she would enjoy it but had a fantastic time. All three of them enjoyed every minute of it - even my teenage niece who is hard to impress :) Kevin is the owner of the company and also the pilot so he works hard to make very sure you have the best possible experience. He has flown balloons in Phoenix for over 25 years and really knows the area with lots of colorful stories to tell to keep you entertained. The basket will only hold 4 adults (plus the pilot) so it is a very personal experience as well. We all loved the mimosas and muffins at the end with the story of the very first balloon ride :) This is actually the second flight I have taken with Kevin. My four kids and I took a flight with him a couple of years ago and it is something they still talk about and would jump at the chance to do again. Kevin, you are the best and thank you for the great memories!!! read more

Four of us took this hot air balloon ride before sun set for my friend's 50th Birthday. It was affordable compared to other companies, but the basket was a little small. We felt like the red hot burner was very close to our heads, especially when he had to juice it to make hot air. But the experience was wonderful. Kevin was so funny and entertaining. He was very competent and experienced which put all of us at ease, especially two people on our flight who are a bit afraid of heights. His crew was courteous, friendly, and enthusiastic. After the flight, we had champaigne and cavier (he allowed me to bring my own as it was a special bottle). Kevin took great photos for us too. read more

My husband and I flew with Kevin and his crew yesterday on the sunset flight. It was our anniversary and they all made it so special. It was my third time in a balloon and my husband's first time. By far, this was my best experience. I appreciate Kevin's expertise (year's of piloting and training of other pilots) and the fact that he cares about his passengers' experience. He takes the time to point out the beauty of the area and shows you as much as possible during the flight. He got us close to the mountains so that we could see wildlife. We were fortunate to have a private flight (no one else booked the same time as our flight). One of the things that I liked about Kevin is the fact that he likes smaller groups (2-4 people plus him) for his flights. My first experience (with a different company) had the potential of having 11 other people with me. Kevin and his crew were all so personable throughout. I would fly with them again in a heartbeat. Be sure to bring your camera because you will see some gorgeous scenery!!! read more

All I want to write here, is FANTASTIC! My husband always talked about wanting to go on a hot air balloon ride, and me being scared of heights I was so hesitant. So for his 30th birthday, I just bit the bullet and booked it. I can't tell you how much I want to go AGAIN! And if that ever does happen It will be with Kevin hands down! The original date we had scheduled ended up being bad cause of the weather conditions and Kevin made sure to be in constant contact with me, updating me on the weather; he also made sure we got rescheduled for the next day!.... If you need anymore convincing to fly with him; his basket only fit 4 people. It wasn't a huge basket like some of the balloons we saw that day, it was a more private and inmate setting and it was AWESOME! Kevin was knowledgable and knew Arizona well and pointed out awesome scenery to make sure we had the best flight as possible. He was very personable and you could truly tell he loved his job and loved flying. The whole day took probably 4 hours, and definitely worth waking up early for the sunrise flight. He ended the day with an awesome toast with mimosas and muffins. Kevin, you were awesome, and thanks so much for making my husbands 30th birthday so great. If anyone wants a great experience Kevin is the way to go! read more

The best time ever! We flew and Kevin the pilot was very efficient and most entertaining. There were other companies flying balloons that same day and our ride was far more superior. We were able to cruise in places the other could not. I felt sorry for the people on the other balloons. Even heard the other pilots over the radio say they wished they could fly like we were. He has a smaller balloon and was able to fly in places they couldn't. The smaller basket allowed for a much more personal flight. We had a great time and would recommend it to all!!!! read more

My husband took me on this Hot Air Balloon for our Anniversary. My first Hot Air Balloon ride and his second. He couldnt have picked a better company to fly with. Kevin, his family and Crew were awesome!!! We got to fly with Kevin, his wife and daughter. They took pictures for us and pointed out different things. I dont like heights and was somewhat apprehensive about the trip. After we got up into the air I was ok. Knowing how experienced a pilot Kevin is and having his wife who also has alot of knowledge helped me to be at ease and I was able to enjoy what beauty and peace there is up so high. What a wonderful time with awesome people. If you ever decide to take a Hot Air Balloon I would definately recommend you book with Kevin. Thanks for a wonderful experience. read more
