I felt confident our DJ would do a great job and play exactly what we had asked for. For the day of, our DJ was Jordan and he was amazing. He did a great job setting up the speakers for our ceremony, and worked seamlessly with my brother-in-law who MC'd our reception (introduced people, coordinated toasts, etc.) Jordan did a great job going with the flow when we had to stop the music early, no fault of his, bad communication with our venue. Jordan was able to rearrange the set list to play our must-haves in the shortened time. I was so grateful to have someone so easy to work with and able to pivot we needed to make changes. During the reception he had my family dancing and let me say my family NEVER dances. I was shocked. He did uplighting for our reception too which was perfect. My husbands family all have names that are super hard to pronounce and he said them PERFECTLY which doesn't sound like a big deal but that literally never happens anywhere we go. If you are debating booking DJ Mikey I say DO IT! You won't regret it.

He finally got some music playing only to abruptly start and stop troughout the evening. His Sony Viao computer start up music played at lease half a dozen times in between silence. All our guests commented on how horrible the DJ was. While he profusely apologized at the end of the evening, he also told me is wasn't actually DJ Mikey. Rather, DJ Mikey and him send their kids to the same martial arts studio, they are buddies, and asked him to fill in. Surprise! At least we know why it was so awful. Find a professional to help you have a nice party. We really just wanted music playing. The saddest part was the guy didn't bring any cables to simply plug a phone into the speakers as a back up. EDIT: Received a forwarded email from DJ Mikey. Evidently he never promised he would be our actual DJ? Thus, he has *extremely rudely* requested an edit to this review. It seems very strange that DJ Mikey would "send someone to take care of the event" ON HIS BEHALF, be the person billing us for the event, and then claim he was "only a referrer". On the planet earth I know, people do not request payment for a service when they ONLY refer a alternate service provider. If he doesn't want to be held accountable for this experience, he should have nothing to do with billing. That being said, we did receive a refund because it was just that awful. Since he is a fan of digging up graves for the sake of honesty, here is the email verbatim: "At no point in any of our transactions did I ever lead someone or anyone to believe I would be the DJ. She reviewed this as if it were a bait and switch situation. That was not the case whatsoever. When the resort contacted me, I informed them I was already booked but could send someone to take care of the event for her. I never indicated that I would be the one being the DJ. If he made it out like he was me, then that is on him not me. I never asked him to "fill in" I offered him to the resort as a solution to finding her a DJ. As I already stated, he completely screwed this thing up and I don't blame her for being upset. I took accountability for my end because I was the one that referred him. I simply ask if she is going to leave a review that she leave accurate information. What she left was not correct and I am asking that she kindly correct it for me. He does not "work" for me. Again, he was a referral."
