We had a great lunch! Buffalo garlic parmesan wings were delicious and the burger was amazing. Loads of great beer on tap...worth a stop!!

My boyfriend and I came in a couple weeks ago and loved everything. The food was delicious, service was fast and we left happy and singing praises. We came in again today for the exact same meal we had a couple weeks ago because it was that good. We changed it up a little and decided to try some wings on their menu, because if the burgers were so amazing these would be good as well. We ordered the honey mustard garlic boneless wings and we took the first bite and neither of us liked them. Our server quality checked the table and she was super understanding and took them back to the kitchen, there manager came by and was understanding, asked if we wanted anything else and we denied because we would be fine with just our burgers. The service was great the whole time and our waitress was very attentive to our needs. The bill arrived and we noticed the wings were still on there, both my boyfriend and I work in the service industry and just figured that the waitress forgot to ask management to take the wings off, so we pointed it out! Five minutes later the manager came over to our table and asked if we had any questions about the bill, to which we replied and said that they just forgot to take the wings off. He responded with " just because you didn't like them doesn't mean that we will take them off the bill" and I responded back to him saying that if I knew that was their policy I would've packed them up and taken them home with me instead of them throwing the product that I was unknowingly paying for in the garbage. Any other restaurant I have been to will happily take care of an item for a customer if they did not like it, even if they kinda liked it but ate it all anyways. the main purpose of restaurants and the service industry is to provide great product and customer service to patrons in order to continue having business in the future. Neither qualities they exhibited to us today. a small comment on the side of a customer ended up with us feeling invaluable and ripped off. We will go elsewhere for our burgers in the future. read more

Went here a few days ago with some girlfriends and it was fantastic! They completely renovated hudsons, they have super high ceilings, large new tv's and an awesome sound system. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable on the menu and recommended some delicious wings - srachi honey- delish. I will for sure be back, it is probably the best sports bar in Edmonton read more

There are two of these places in Edmonton and I have yet to eat at either one. You can read my review of the West Edmonton Mall one that I didn't get a chance to eat at, now the Downtown one has afforded me the same lack of opportunity. Here's how it goes: We walked in the door and the hostess asks us for how many. We say 5. She says "hmmmmmmm...I'll have to talk to a manager to see what we can do." What the hell???? It's not like I walked in with 50 people! And there wasn't even a lineup. Anyways she scurries off. So I take a walk though the place. I find two tall 4 seat tables and a booth under a big screen that looks like it might hold 8. I go back to the front to let my wife know there are some adequate seats. The hostess comes back and lets us know that they have a booth for us and it will be ready in about 5 or 10 minutes. Still a little sour from the initial "let me talk to my manager to see if we can accommodate your HUGE group of 5" conversation, I ask her if she is going to seat us at the booth under the big screen. She replies that she has a booth for us and points out one of those booths that's really for 4, but you could fit 6 in there if you wanted everyone to be really uncomfortable and have a terrible time. So I let her know that the booth she has chosen will not work and could we have the larger one to which she says "ummmmmmmmm.....". Well that's about enough for me. Goodbye. So this place may be alright, but between the Mall and Downtown, I have never actually been in. So good luck. read more

Went for supper/drinks with another couple on Saturday night. Place looked awesome from the previous Hudson's that was there. Hostesses were friendly and were seated right away. We were asked if we were there to watch any game in particular and if a tv it was in eyesight that was showing it. Burgers tasted great, we ordered The Perogy Burger / The Heat / Bacon Cheeseburger x2. Everyone thought they tasted really good. Fries and tater tots were also soo good as a side. We will definitely be coming back on the regular to either watch a game or a night out. read more

Went here to watch the eskimos game. Very loud but was expecting that in a sports bar. So loud that the we couldn't hear the waitress when she was telling us about the specials for the game. Told her we didn't quite hear her and she was quite put off that she had to repeat herself. Ordered food and a Caesar. Food was good not great but good. Ceasar was good tasting but there is no way there was 1 oz alcohol. Too much attitude from the waitress though so probably won't be back for ok food, what seemed like watered down drinks and bad service staff. read more

Second timie at 1St Rnd, first time at this location. It's really big! I never realized how big this location is! There are TV's everywhere, with all kinds of sports on them. Clearly, because they are a sports bar. Special of the day was deep fried pickles, so clearly, that was a must. They're bloody amazing by the way. I had a Caesar to drink, and hubby had a coffee. Really good Caesar! Except my second one was missing hot sauce. No zing whatsoever. Makes me wonder if I got a higher quality Caesar to start, and then a low brow one for seconds. Oh well. I wasn't bothered. It went down just as well. I had a bacon cheese burger and curly fries for main course. Hubby had the same, but doubled. Hot! HOT! Temperature wise it was a definitely warm meal. I found that the burger, while super tasty, was really on the greasy side. Hubby said the same. It was delicious but I think I might try something else on the menu. What I really noticed about the place was the fact that the managers are really hands on with what they do. They are bussing tables, coming around to see how things are, etc. I even commented to one of them, because I was impressed with the fact that they don't consider themselves above the servers. Teamwork! Great experience, and I will be back. Gotta try some more menu items! read more

Been there a couple times, and take out a couple time with skip the dishes, and the food is always very good (the slider platter is a favourite) and the fries are always crisp and plentiful. Great beer options on tap. The wings are very good, but pricey. read more

Usually have excellent meals delivered to me from here, via SkipTheDishes, but, was very disappointed by the food I ordered today. Tater tots were a mix of overdone or slightly underdone and squashed, Mac and cheese puck in my burger was way overdone. I understand that you may have been busy, but, consistency is something that needs to be considered no matter what time of day or how busy it is. read more

Been to the downtown location for lunch a few times, probably not again after the last time. Food is ok, usual pub fare with some decent burgers. Not sure why they feel the need to have the sound so loud you can't hear yourself talk at your table. There was a soccer game on, not a fan but no big deal came with 3 others and wanted to have lunch and chat anyway. Ended up cutting it short, only thing worse than watching soccer is having to listen to it at ear splitting volume. Staff shrugged as we complained and left, won't be back too many other places to choose from to put up with that. Can almost see it being that loud for an Oilers game but for a weekday lunch hour?? read more

Why does it take 45 min to serve a burger at a burger restaurant? I went for lunch. The place wasn't packed. I'm guessing all the tv's are too distract that you are waiting. I don't think this manager could manage a hot dog cart with an assistant manager and 3 staff. I was waiting and saw him poke a skip the dishes driver in the chest when the driver asked why he had to wait 20 min. The waitress was kind but the repeat of, "just five more minutes" grew old after the third time. read more

I know not to go to a sports bar and expect much in food. Still disappointed in price and false advertising. Wasn't particularly hungry so I tried the Madison Square Garden salad. It was so tiny my friend thought the waitress must have made a mistake and rang in the starter size instead of the full size. I was charged for the full size. It's only lettuce, could have added enough to fill the plate. Ordered wings which were advertised as half price as the 'side' salad wasn't filling. Nope, charged full price for the wings. One thing that makes you shake your head in a visit isn't a big deal. Two bad food experiences in one visit? Happily more sports bars will be opening in the neighbourhood. read more

Food: very different menu selection, they have different burgers that are not the typical offered such as PB&J- my favourite. Also, it doesn't hurt to have tarter torts and curly fries with a burger. Service: Every time I have gone there, the manager on duty has came by to ask how our food is, and how everything is. She was also very professional. Always excited to go to 1ST RND because the food is always so great, have only been at the one located in west Edmonton mall and thought I would try the one downtown. Sat at my table for 15 minutes and had 2 servers walk past our table at least 4 times and no service had to leave. Incredibly disappointed with this. Would not recommend going here. read more

Excellent TV. Good burgers. Nice clean atmosphere. Only one issue they advertise 0.5L and 1Pint beer then serve you 12 oz size. Please protest constantly until this injustice is resolved. read more
