I started work with Express Employment Professionals on August, At a company called Sofidel…read more During my short time there, I had heat exhaustion and had to take a couple days off. I went back to work (Sofidel were nice to me) and continued to struggle with the heat and my newly diagnosed diabetes prognosis. I was prescribed medication which I had a terrible reaction from. Swollen tongue, nauseous, vomiting, severe dizzy spells and unintentional weight loss. Went to my PCP and had my medication reduced. Dr gave me time off with an excuse. Sofidel let me go. So I'm still 'employed' says one of the 'Sara's' at the Express Employment Professionals of Lakeland. She calls me and asks me what is happening on my way to the clinic. I tell her everything I am writing above. They suggest a substitute teacher's job in the Lakeland area. I get fingerprinted for the 'job' and I'm told I'll be working by the end of the week. A week goes by. They're still waiting for the go ahead from the school I am told, which can be understandable. Meanwhile, I turn down 2 possible job offers. But the last few times I call. No one answers and it goes to voice-mail. So I call again using the *67 option (number shows as 'private' on caller ID with *67 option) and someone answers immediately but does not use the 'Hi...I'm so and so with Express...' Not even a 'hi'. I found this strange and neglected. I hang up. Call again without the *67...goes to voice mail. I call again with the *67 option and they answer immediately. I then let them know who I am and I let them know how I called and the no answer, and answer actions they seemed to choose. Now, I feel discriminated because of an illness, that seems is going in the right direction now with doctor's care, and personal knowledge of this ailment to be able to work. This isn't fair!
