Member-owned, 1st Ed Credit Union is a full-service financial institution serving school employees and their families in Adams, Cumberland (except West Shore, Camp Hill, East Pennsboro, Mechanicsburg, and Cumberland Valley), Franklin, Fulton, and York counties. We also serve the employees of a variety of partner companies within this area. If you work for one of the school districts or partner companies we serve, you're eligible to become part of our financial family.

History

Established in 1938.

We began from the aspirations of founding fathers Roger G. Mowrey, D. Frank Stewart, Ralph I. Shockey, and Jerry Allen. Their vision became reality when we opened our doors in 1938 as Franklin County Teachers Credit Union - laying the groundwork for our innovative and thriving credit union. Today, we serve more than 6,200 members - school employees, students, and their families, and a growing array of employees from our partner companies. We've seen many changes during our history by expanding to become a full-service financial institution. We've grown to serve a multitude of school districts and employees of neighboring companies. Our name changed in 2010 reflects our growth and fresh approach to serving you. 1st Ed Credit Union represents who we are today and our core philosophy since our beginning.

You have to deposit money into their savings wait for it to clear then go back and transfer to your auto loan. Also they keep asking me for proof of insurance for my car. I've sent it in 4 separate times as well as talking to their representatives on the phone about exactly what they are looming for. Every time I get a response that the information is insufficient. I am fed up with this bank already and it's only been 30 days. Stay away. Don't take any loans from this bank. You will regret it!!!! I will want anyone I can to save them the trouble.

Which cause an overdraft in the account two days after I made the deposit! And these people took that opportunity to charge me an overdraft fee anyway! Why would you charge me for an overdraft knowing it was due to them taking two days to process a check that they say gets processed 4 times everyday. Unless its due to lack of available banks in your area I recommend you find another bank.
