I understand they are based in Newtown and perhaps the yuppies there do not track their accounts closely or not but the games they play are some of the oldest in the banking industry. In early October, I received a letter indicating that VNB would be upgrading its systems, including those related to mortgage servicing. They changed the format of the monthly invoice for my mortgage (for the better). I received the invoice one day before it was due. This is not my complaint. Due to the modification, my quarterly property taxes, which would have been paid from escrow near the end of October, were never dispersed. After calling their service desk I found out that they are *manually* processing payments. It is now Oct 18 has I have received a notice from my town that I am delinquent. I am trying to work this out with VNB currently to ensure my credit rating is not damaged. Note to VNB's IT department: 1. Test your changes prior to releasing it. 2. Don't make a major change two weeks before property taxes are due. Sigh

Carolyn is extremely unprofessional. Due to their negligence, I almost had lost my $18K deposit. I had to call and email them numerous times because of a cash deal that had to close at 4PM. I bugged Carolyn and Nancy all morning. Funds to be wired in the amount of $161K. I notified them of this days in advanced I needed notice of my bank, and they ignored me. They didn't get back to me until 1:00PM. The day of closing and they needed the money ($161K) by 4PM! I sent the wire at 2:00PM. I was running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. Carolyn calls me at 4:00PM because the wire hasn't gone through. I called my banks manager and he chuckled to Carolyn and Nancy, "It's a large sum of money. It takes a little bit of time." If Carolyn and Nancy would have tasked their day and prioritized certain closings, meaning sending me my deed to sign in the morning so I could sign and wire the money in the morning, there would have not been an issue. While on vacation with the family on a Monday late afternoon, I noticed that that day about $9,000…read more(which was not in there) had been moved from a checking account to paypal. Since there was not enough money in the account it was transferred from a savings account. I have not used paypal for months. After contacting paypal and confirmed these were unauthorized transactions, Paypal began a case to investigate. and i was told they would return the money to the paypal account and then back to the checking account. Since i intended to close this account this was going to be an issue. I then called Penn Community bank, by this time it was after 7 and I left a voice mail. to my surprise I received a call back and was connected Sharon at the Doylestown office and i explained what as going on. She froze the checking account and said the better option would be to have the bank put the money back into the account, have their fraud division investigate and have Penn Community go after Paypal for reimbursement. The money was returned to another account the next day. When I returned from vacation the following week, I went in to see Sharon at the Doylestown branch and in about half an hour, we had a new account set up and she gave me guidance on better options for my money. This is not the first time they have helped me. I use a debit card a lot and a couple of times the card became compromised and I get notified about attempted 'suspicious activity' from the bank, they automatically put a freeze on the card until I contact them. I could not be any more pleased with Penn Community Bank and Sharon from the Doylestown Office
