Hard to believe its been 7 years since my last review and think its time for another one…read more The place closed up for about a year and then reopened with different management and staff crew. They are still in the stage of refreshing some of the interior but what's improved is the cookery of the food. On this visit it was their typical Tuesday Tractor night and was good to catch up on some ole friends. I ordered a typical dish which was their hamburger steak and side of mashed potatoes and side salad. I was surprised and impressed on how well the hamburger steak covered in their brown gravy sauteed onions and their mashed potatoes where especially tasty. That alone made the trip and food worth the visit. I look forward to seeing how their improved dishes is reflected with the other menu items.

The lamp chislic was prepared medium rare and was truly moist and flavorful. The New England clam chowder was probably the best I've had and has compared to the more traditional clam chowder of New England! Jumbo shrimp dinner was simply amazing and worked so well with the squash. Peach cobbler was one of the best I've had and finished off nicely as a desert.

As an add-on store across the "highway" from the real Hyvee, this store is freaking awesome. The wines are categorized by region, while other parts are categorized by types. Although this makes things slightly more difficult, it allowed me to actually browse through types of wines I'm not so familiar with. There was even an entire column dedicated to South Dakota wines! Although as tempting as it sounded, I think I'll stick with French and Italian wines for now. The gist of what I'm getting at is that, for being a typical wine shop in South Dakota, they could boast more than 5x the amount of wines I would be able to find in my typical wine shop in NYC.
