Delightful, historic, and a totally wonderful experience. Was in the area for a wedding and this was one of the accommodations listed on the wedding website. My wife and I had a truly wonderful time! We had a late check in, but the owner Chris, gave us perfect entry instructions and even warned us of the auto lights by our room. Lovely private bedrooms with updated bathrooms. Stayed in the Griffin Room, and we loved it! Perfect homebase for the wedding weekend. Located wonderfully on the main drag, we were able to get dinner, coffee and lunch all within walking distance! The breakfast part of our stay was really so lovely. Chris was a delight to talk to, had lots of recommendations locally, was very funny, and the food was delicious. It was such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and Chris really was a character. Being local, he had so many stories of the area, of the house itself, the process of updating it, and incredibly funny stories of some of the events they've had. The wedding couple followed up with us asking if we would recommend the 1812 House in the future, and we mentioned that it is on our list to stay if we return to the Tug Hill! read more
