I got something pretty small and straightforward forward yet my artist failed to put the "s" in lowercase so now I have an uppercase S above a lowercase b. The tattoo healed horribly, the lines were clean when I left and within a couple of weeks the ink started bleeding out leaving hardly any gaps on the a and now it looks like a blob of black ink. I have had several tattoos since and every artist has told me that they went way too deep and looked like they were trying to cover up a mistake. I visited the shop on 08/25/24. I walked in and was never once acknowledged, spoken to, greeted, nothing. one artist was in his booth yelling at, what appeared to be, his dog on the phone to lay down or he was going to whoop it. one artist was on the couch reading a book, while the female was helping a gentleman with a piece for him. I sat less than 10 feet from the artist on the couch and never decided to help a customer. I quietly left 40 minutes later with still no acknowledgement from any of the staff. I went to another shop in powdersville where I'm scheduled to do a complete forearm piece on my left arm which will range , most likely when completed, around $800 to $900 one star because I had to add one to do review read more

fyi, from what I've experience, if you're looking for exceptionally basic tattoos for Incredibly high prices, this is the place to go. Watch your self, they'll talk you into something you don't necessarily want & make you feel guilted into getting it. Kind of like it's not your choice, it's what they want to do..... There are very basic expectations that you assume will be met when going to a tattoo shop. Cleanliness, good communication, professionalism, and over-all respect. The sad reality is that this is not always met. A friend of mine in town on an extended stay was looking to get a tattoo to commemorate the trip. I have not gotten tattoos in the Greenville area so I could not make a personal recommendation but upon researching shops and reading reviews 123 East Coast Ink seemed like a suitable choice for the small tattoo she was wanting. The shop appeared clean when we entered. There was one major red flag right from the get go: not a single artist or employee was wearing a mask. We felt comfortable enough to proceed as the staff was very friendly and we did not take our masks off for the entirety of the appointment. She was assigned to an artist named Esteban Cardona. He was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable, though he later admitted that he'd been tattooing for only two years or so. That is totally fine, because she was very happy with his work. She got a small tattoo on her finger and had another of her older tattoos touched up. He was going to charge her $10 for this touch up (which was done by a different artist) but was kind and friendly and actually did it for free. Exactly two weeks later (today, 9/4/2020) we returned to the shop to have the finger tattoo touched up. Anybody who has tattoos knows that certain areas are very prone to fading quickly, fingers being one of them. She was not upset, but wanted to make sure she could get it touched up before returning home from her stay. She called on 9/3 asking if there was availability the next day for her to come in and have it touched up. She mentioned Esteban Cardona by name and that she'd been tattooed by him recently and the man who answered the phone said that it was totally fine and to come in tomorrow. Though she did say she felt rushed off of the phone. Early this afternoon she called again to confirm that she could still get a retouch, AGAIN mentioning Esteban Cardona and that it was a retouch. This time a woman picked up who was very friendly and said that was still fine and she let her know we'd be there in about 30 minutes. When we arrived at the shop she explained that she was the one that called about the retouch and showed them the tattoo. They instantly replied that they do not do touch ups on Fridays. This is completely fine, but was never mentioned in either of the phone calls, one of which had been made less than an hour before we got there. She explained that she was leaving the state tomorrow and the woman who we spoke to was very kind and said she'd grab Esteban so that he could speak with her. When Esteban came out he asked her multiple times if it was healed, which she was confused by because he clearly did not remember her (which is forgivable, working in the service industry it's very easy to forget people when you see so many daily). She then said that it'd only been two weeks to which he replied "Well, I'll have to charge you at least $40." (Remember- he did a touch up for FREE on her two weeks earlier even though originally it was not his work). When she stated again that he had done it only two weeks before he said that he could do it for free but "it would be a while." She stepped out of his room and he shut the door behind her. My friend was so confused and upset that she was treated with such inconsistent and unprofessional service that she ultimately decided on leaving without the touch up. She was not comfortable being tattooed by somebody with such an aggressive demeanor. Esteban Cardona- I wish you the best in your trade. As somebody who has worked in the service industry I know that every day can't be a good day, but if that type of behavior is typical of you I can't imagine your career lasting very long. Bottom line: I wish I was making this up but I would never recommend 123 East Coast Ink or Esteban Cardona to anybody that I know read more

I normally don't leave reviews, or bad ones for that matter, but this is just unacceptable. My best friend and I came in to get matching tattoos done, and we were really excited. We chose this place because it had really good reviews. Esteban Cardona was our tattoo artist. The whole time he was making unwelcome sexual innuendos to us, two college-aged women. Some examples included mentioning his phallic size, and at one point saying, "It's just the tip babe," when talking about the tattoo needle. These are two of many instances that made us uncomfortable. Furthermore, when my friend was getting the tattoo done it was extremely painful the whole time. At the time, she thought this was normal, though compared to a previous tattoo done by someone else on the same spot on her body, it was beyond awful. Though we both are aware tattoos are painful, this just seemed excessive. I'm not including a picture of hers because besides the line work being uneven, there was luckily minimal bleeding. My experience was very painful as well, as it felt like he was roughly digging into my skin by the needle, which is my theory on why my result was by far worse. This is four months later, and it is obvious how poorly done the whole tattoo is. The line work is uneven, the bleeding is ridiculous, and it's to the point where it's a blowout and looks smeared. To be clear, I took proper care of it the way he told us to, going to far as to research on my own. I'm not sure how to even begin to try to fix this. All I can recommend is that this is by far the worst experience I could have anticipated, and I would seriously advise that no one get anything done here, at least by Esteban Cardona. I am so embarrassed to have this tattoo and am going to have to spend far more money than it was worth to get it fixed. read more

I received a tattoo from there. I will not only never go back but would not recommend going to anyone.my tattoo artist stopped mid tattoo and went out side to smoke. And the whole tattoo shoukd have only took a few mins.the place was not clean. The staff was rude girl wouldn't get off her computer long enough to help me.when he was done he put a peice of cheap paper towel over it and charged me to put a&d on it. Well after getting it home and trying to fight infection, I got to see that he messed it up bad and turned one part into hamburger its scared bad to this day and the whole thing looks horrible. would take alot of change to be a decent place.... read more

I came to east coast ink and was told that Diesel could finish this tattoo in two hours and that he wanted $400 to do the tattoo I wanted. $200 bucks an hour is outrageous but I decided it would be fine since I knew it would take much longer than 2 hours to finish. Not only did he rush through my tattoo leaving a ton of details unfinished and sloppy to get to his friend who was a walk in he got such an attitude later when it started to heal and I realized that he didn't even finish a lot of the color work. Not to mention the things I specifically asked him to do that he said he couldn't do after he had already started. I have an alice in wonderland tattoo and I asked for the caterpillars legs to be yellow and the rest of him shades of blue. He told me that he couldn't do that and the entire thing would have to be blue. After the colors faded and I went to have it fixed by a different artist I didn't have any trouble getting exactly what I asked for. I left a review on their fb page but they immediately took it down. I've finally gotten it fixed and am going to post a picture of the before and after. Please think twice before visiting this shop.
